PaddyPower Taking Bets On Full Tilt Poker's Demise

Talk about kicking 'em while they are down! Earlier this week Ireland based PaddyPower.com decided to take bets as to whether or not Full Tilt Poker will be offering real cash games on July 27th; the day after the beleaguered online poker site learns its fate from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.

Using Full Tilt Poker's troubles as a marketing tool is not new, as many online gambling houses have jumped into darkening Full Tilt's black eye, but this certainly is a unique way to go about it. PaddyPower is using the bet with a promotional offer to help bring poker players to its own tables. The current odds are 1/8 that there will be no pay poker on July 27th, and 9/2 that there will indeed be money poker being played.

If a punter decides to bet against Full Tilt Poker having pay money games on the 27th, PaddyPower will also credit that player's account with an identical amount that the player had bet. A PaddyPower.com spokesman touted this promotion saying, "Whether Full Tilt Poker is opened or closed on the 27th, players will have good reason to be playing poker on Paddy Power Poker.com. Either way it’s a no lose situation for our punters and poker players as they get paid one way or the other regardless of the outcome.”
