Rival leaving the US?

This story was published more than 13 years ago.

Unconfirmed but growing numbers of reports on internet message boards appear to indicate that the Rival internet gambling turnkey provider, which powers a number of online casinos that accept US action, may have decided to eschew US business as payment processing becomes an increasingly serious obstacle to business.

InfoPowa readers will recall that shortly after Black Friday there were unsourced reports that Rival-powered operators were no longer accepting new players, but would continue to service existing American clients.

Rival has not yet made any public and official announcements regarding its position, and enquiries to the company went unanswered this week. As far as is known the company has not emailed either affiliate marketers or players regarding its position.

Players report receiving live support information along the following lines when querying the freezing of their accounts:

"I am sorry to inform you that due to the US government involvement in online gambling and not permitting citizens from the USA to gamble Online we are currently unable to accept U.S. customers to register, deposit or play at the casino. For this reason, unfortunately, all USA accounts have been closed."

It is hoped that Rival will quickly clarify the present situation amid US player concerns regarding their account balances and ability to play on Rival-powered sites.

I have so much protest for "the US government involvement in online gambling and not permitting citizens from the USA to gamble Online" that I think it'd be better if I do not express my frank emotions in here... !
