January 2012 will be the last time industry people tread the well-worn route to the prestigious ICE exhibition in London, which has for years been located at the famous and central Earls Court exhibition centre.
Clarion Events, which organises the annual expo, has announced that it has signed a five year deal that will see the event moving to ExCeL London from 2013.
The first show taking place at the new location will be from 5 to 7 February 2013.
Announcing the decision, Julian Graves, managing director of Clarion's gaming division said, "We are really excited about the move to ExCeL. The huge investments they have made in the last 12 months in their facilities and infrastructure, the upgrades to the Docklands Light Railway and Jubilee line, the Olympics legacy, as well as their close proximity to London City Airport means that ExCeL is the right venue to enable us to meet our ambitions to further grow ICE and our international audience, to ensure it remains the leading global B2B Gaming event in the industry.”
Graves thanked the Earls Court management team for their support over the last decade.
"They have been a key factor in the success and growth of ICE. But now is the time to move on and we are looking forward to working with ExCeL and our customers to ensure that we meet the growing needs of the industry in a venue that can help us fulfill our aspirations going forwards in the long term," he said.
