The Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) has made a number of changes to its Easter Festival Headline Guarantee, Bad Beat Jackpot and New Player Freeroll and Turbo Tournaments, boosting the guaranteed prize pools.

The headline Guarantee Tournament for the Easter Festival has been increased from 500,000 Euros to 750,000 Euros, claiming that this will make the event the largest online European poker tournament running this weekend, and the biggest the network has ever run.

The Bad Beat Jackpot has also been seeded with $200,000, which brings the total Jackpot to well over a quarter million dollars. The MPN Bad Beat Jackpot has proved to be a pop(ular feature with cash game players, as evidenced by the traffic increase in February led by the largest Bad Beat Jackpot in Microgaming’s history.

Operators will also be able to offer increased New Player Freerolls and New Player Turbo tournaments, which have increased fivefold from 500 Euros to 2,500 Euros each. Each new player will be entered into three New Player Freerolls and can enter three New Player Turbos, which cost just 1 Euro to enter and will run every Wednesday until the 11th May.

Additionally, a two week extension has been made on the popular Magic Hands promotion, which pays out 3,000 Euro per day to random cash game players.

Lydia Melton, head of poker at Microgaming said this week that the latest moves are the latest in a long line of improvements.

“Just this year, we have seen the release of a comprehensive loyalty system, a new client with smoother gameplay and faster response times, the release of an Android mobile poker client, a vastly improved promotional schedule, and a complete overhaul of the cash games.”
