Rumours of negotiations on the sale of EurosportBET by French broadcaster TF1 to Alexandre Dreyfus have come to naught as TF1 announced the sale of its subsidiary SPS Betting to a member of its current management who is apparently supported by an unidentified investment fund.

SPS Betting holds three licences; sports betting, online horse racing and online poker, from French online gambling regulator ARJEL.

TF1 closed down its UK-facing sports betting website EurosportBET UK on 14 March 2011 and EurosportBET has reportedly lost €23 million since its launch.

The EurosportBET website reassured its bettors that the site will continue to operate uninterrupted.
