A new high-stakes poker-themed production featuring a stellar cast is in the works. The film based on the 1974 George V. Higgins national best-selling novel, Jackie Cogan, will be directed by Andrew Dominik and produced by The Weinstein Co. and Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment.
In the gritty, tough talking pages of Higgins's novel, professional enforcer Cogan (Brad Pitt) is called in when a high-stakes poker game under the protection of the Mob is heisted.
The production, due for an early 2012 release, is to be filmed in New Orleans and will star Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, James Gandolfini, Casey Affleck, Sam Rockwell, Javier Bardem, Mark Ruffalo, Vincent Curatola and Richard Jenkins.
