You could say that the online gambling site JackpotJoy was very appropriately named for one lucky player recently - it dished out a £543,627 jackpot on the five-reel and 20-payline slot Deal or No Deal (note our Deal or No Deal jackpot tracker detected this win on March 29).

The Gibraltar-licensed site announced that player 'Kelly D' won the life-changing reward after electing to gamble instead of cash when offered £57 by the game's banker.

"It's a bit strange and everything's been a blur since I won," said the bemused player. "It still hasn't sunk in. I won at around 10:30 in the evening and didn't sleep a wink afterwards. The banker offered me £57 and I had the progressive jackpot or £2.50. There was no way I was taking it, so I said 'no deal'. What an amazing gamble.

"I've told my family and they're all thrilled. We're going to do the usual; buy a house, go on holiday, update our car. It'll be amazing to do it all and not have to worry about paying for any of it. This is a life-changing amount of money."

Deal Or No Deal is based on the popular television game show of the same name and historically holds the record for the biggest single payout ever awarded by JackpotJoy - some £1.43 million.
