One lucky Brit punter is worth €31.7 million more this week than he was last following a gigantic win in a German lottery using the numbers 3, 4, 23, 30, 43 and 44, as well as the bonus number of 6.

The 33-year-old anonymous winner played the lottery on the Tipp24 website, a licensed broker of online lottery betting in Germany providing customers the opportunity to bet on the outcome of a variety of European lotteries - including the EuroMillions.

Ulf Teuber, managing director of Tipp24, said: "We are very happy for our customer. To our knowledge, this is the highest jackpot prize ever won online in the United Kingdom."

Shares in Tipp24 fell 7.5% to the bottom of Frankfurt's smallcap index SDAXI, after the company cut its 2009 outlook for earnings before interest and tax to at least €30 million, as spokesmen said the company's MyLotto24 unit would have to pay out the big lottery win.
