How does the whole thing work actually? The five jackpots sit above your reels and wait to boil or more preciously for one of your spins to contribute the amount that will tip the pot over it boiling point in which case you win the jackpot amount. This win is added to your other wins and the jackpot level amount resets. The amount resets with the residual accrued value from progressive jackpots that have been taken out of play.

The Maxi Jackpot is the second largest jackpot you can win on the game and its so-called boiling point is $250,000. This means that if the jackpot value hits that amount it will be automatically won by the player whose bet contribution pushed the jackpot to its boiling point. To qualify for the Maxi jackpot you must be betting at the second highest wager of $3.50. This also qualifies you for the the three smaller jackpots, and your progressive contribution for your bet will be split up among the four jackpots. In practice this means that the jackpots grow very slowly, increasing by only a cent every few spins or so.
