Progressive jackpot history

Let'em Ride is a table game based on five card poker where you do not play against other players or the dealer. This is Realtime Gaming's version of the game Let It Ride, which you may have seen or played at your local land casino. The games are identical aside from the way bets are placed, and although the way RTG's game does things probably makes more sense to a player and the end result is the same, it contradicts the name of the game of letting your bets ride.

Instead of placing three bets up front then subtracting them or letting them ride, you instead place a single ante bet before you are dealt three cards face up and two cards faced down. After that you can choose to either raise your ante by the same amount as your original bet, or stand and not place another bet. The first of the two face down cards is then revealed and you can either raise or stand again. After that the second face down card is revealed and winnings, if any, are paid. The standard five card poker hands apply and you win if you hold at least a pair of 10s or higher. There is a scale of payouts that depend on the hand you hold, starting at 1:1 if you are holding a pair up to 1000:1 if you are holding a royal flush.

The game also gives you an opportunity to win a progressive jackpot. To qualify for the jackpot you need to place an additional progressive bet of one dollar when you place your ante. You take the whole jackpot amount if you are dealt a royal flush, while a straight flush rewards you with 10% of the jackpot. Four of a kind bags you $500, a full house $100 and a flush brings you $75. The progressive side bet on Let 'em Ride meets its break-even point when the jackpot reaches $201,245. So any jackpot above that makes the side bet a wager with positive expectation, though the chances of winning are of course small at 1 in 649,740 hands.
