Baccarat is a well known gentleman’s table card game played with a deck of 52 cards. The object of this game is to guess whether the player or the banker will draw a hand of cards that will in total be closest to the number nine. There is an option to bet on a tie as well.

The great thing about having an online version of this game is that you can also place a side bet and have a chance to take home the progressive jackpot offered. The jackpot display at the top of your screen shows the progressive jackpot amount. This full amount is shared between the players who have also placed the side bet at your table for the jackpot. The amount each one of you is eligible to win is equal to the share of each players side bet in the total amount of the side bets placed for that round. For example if three players placed a side bet then each player is eligible to a third of the jackpot. The jackpot is won if both the player and the dealer have an Ace and 8 and all the cards are the same suit.

If you have never played Baccarat before you may want to take some time to study the rules of the game. It is not a hard game and there is really no skill involved. It is a game of luck and your chance of winning are very close to 50:50. It is a wildly popular game in land based casinos, particularly in Asia, so it is well worth a try.

Note that the jackpot amount on this page is the value you would win if you bet the maximum $5 or currency equivalent per hand. There are proportionally smaller jackpots available for players wagering at lower stakes.
