Progressive jackpot history
Gambling is pretty great, but video games are even better. That's just a fact of life. Because I was born in the 1980's, I have a particular fondness for games in the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, when Nintendo and Sega ruled the market. Playtech knows that there's an entire generation of gamblers that relates more with these video games than they do with classic fruit style games, and they've delivered the Pixel Samurai slot as a result. The game brings us some feudal Japanese iconography along with the Pixel Samurai Jackpot, which has the ability to pay out a huge cash prize.
Pixel Samurai is set in front of a Japanese temple, constructed in a pixelated purple backdrop that sees cool lanterns and even clouds moving around the sky. There are a number of different characters on the reels that pop up, including a straw hat ninja, a purple sumo, a green female archer, a blue Shaolin monk, princess, and red samurai.
This game is a reactor-style slot that sees the characters dropped onto the reels. When five or more of an identical symbol touch, they set off a win. The more icons that touch, the higher the payout. These winning symbols are then removed and additional characters cascade down, allowing you to potentially win larger cash prizes.
In terms of the jackpot, the game's prize grows with every spin of the reels and it pays off when eight of the red samurai symbols are placed adjacently on the reels. This is obviously exceptionally hard, as the red samurai serves as the game's highest-paying icon.
This game is a bunch of fun to play, especially if you're a fan of reactor-style slots. I highly recommend it if you're interested in old-school video games and want a chance to take home a huge progressive jackpot.
