Progressive jackpot history
Cyberstud Poker is Microgaming's name for the popular Caribbean Stud Poker game. The major jackpot in Cyberstud Poker can be won by wagering an additional side bet along with the ante for the hand - the jackpot is won if you are then dealt a royal flush of any suit.
The side bet in Progressive Cyberstud Poker also pays out in smaller amounts for other specific hands. Unlike the common payout of 10% of the jackpot for a straight flush, Microgaming Cyberstud pays out a fixed $20,000 (or other currency equivalent). It also pays $500 for a four of a kind, $100 if you are dealt a full house, and $50 for a flush.
Over at the Wizard of Odds, Michael Shackleford has calculated that the house edge on the progressive side bet in Cyberstud Poker is approximately 36% less around 1.5% for every $10,000 in the jackpot meter. This means that the break-even point is reached when the jackpot meter hits $234,290. Above this figure the bet has a positive expected value.
We only record the full royal flush jackpot wins as a win on our tracker, so if you see a dip in the graph that is not recorded as a win it was most probably the $20,000 straight flush payout.
