About Pumpkin Smash
Smashing pumpkins can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. It can be a band, an act of vandalism, and apparently a part of the Mexican holiday Day of the Dead. This is picked up by Yggdrasil Gaming in their Pumpkin Smash slot. The game brings a mixture of Halloween and Day of the Dead, getting us a unique looking game that is a lot of fun to play.
Pumpkin Smash is a 5 reel, 20 payline video slot that takes place on the Day of the Dead Holiday which is also Halloween to us that don't celebrate. The game's imagery is actually very good, melding both skulls and classic symbols. These include blue spades, green clubs, pink spades, red hearts, blue skull, green skull, pink female skull, and red female skull. There is also a pumpkin wearing a sombrero and a wild symbol, which round things out.
The game offers a few key features to spice things up. You'll find the above mentioned wilds, scatters, free spins, along with a bonus game that can be triggered by spinning 2 or more bonus symbols on a single spin. You are then presented with a series of pumpkins to smash, with the number corresponding to the number of bonus symbols you spun. All you do is click them to smash them and count your winnings, which can be a coin prize, a free spins trigger, or a multiplier that applies during the free spins round. If you managed to get 3 or more pumpkin bonus symbols you are guaranteed to get a free spins trigger prize.
All in all my overall experience with Pumpkin Smash was a bit disappointing. I really wish things were deeper here, as it would have added longevity to the game. Still, this game does look sharp, and you can also play it on your mobile device, which looks equally good. So if you're in the mood for a dark, yet cheerful game, then Pumpkin Smash is a slot you should consider.
This game reminds a lot Grim Muerto slot from playngo. But i like Grim Muerto more because of the better music. Talking about winnings they both me always pay small. Extremely small.
This is probably one of my favourite Halloween type of games. I don't play it often but in low rolling sessions I enjoy it, especially around Halloween time due to the theme and design. I have had a few small hits here and there but haven't seen any big win potential.
