About Craps
Craps is one of the most popular games in the casino. It may at first look intimidating because of all the different bets you can place and the elaborate layout, but it is actually a very simple game. What also makes it an attractive game is it has a very low house edge and thus is one of your best bets in the casino.
Craps information
Craps is not as difficult as it looks. Understanding the basics of the game and how to make a passline bet is enough to get you started. There are about 40 different bets that you can make in Craps, but most of them have terrible odds that you should avoid.
To get started you need to learn how to make a passline bet. You place your bet on the passline before a new shooter begins his roll. If the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 you win. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12, you lose. If the shooter rolls any other number, that number becomes the point number. This means the shooter must roll that number again before a seven is rolled. If that happens, you win even money for your passline bet. If a seven is rolled before the point number is rolled again, you lose. So you are betting on what the shooter is rolling. When playing this online version you can choose by click on the box to be the shooter and throw the dice yourself.
Once the point is established, a marker is put on the number, you can make an additional bet behind the passline bet, the Odds bet. This is one of the only bets in the casino that does not have a house edge as it is paid off with true odds (another zero house edge bet is the double-up option in video poker).
