About Gonzo's Quest Megaways

Gonzo's Quest may well be in the running for the most over-rated video slot of all-time, and I cannot figure out why. The Gonzo character has become a mascot of sorts for NetEnt, and after they acquired Red Tiger Gaming, they've entrusted the intrepid dude to the subsidiary studio with their Gonzo's Quest Megaways slot. The game uses the licensed Megaways slot mechanic from BTG, which changes the payline possibilities on every spin with different sized icons. The game is actually better than its namesake in many ways and will be my go-to when I think of the puny explorer from now on.

Gonzo's Quest Megaways is a 6 reel video slot that's based in front of an Aztec temple teeming with life. The game's background sees leaves blowing, water falling, and even has a bright blue background behind the symbols. Speaking of symbols, you're going to find a variety of different Aztec icons that are carved out of stone. These include eagles, dragons, and a whole bunch of… well, I don't know what the hell they are - perhaps faces that you would expect to find carved onto the walls of El Dorado perhaps. They do look cool, though.

The slot has a cascading reels setup, which is awesome. In this style game, winning symbols are removed from the reels and new icons fall down from above. This allows you to daisy-chain together wins on one spin, and the results can be fabulous as a win multiplier increments from 1x up to 5x with each consecutive win. There's also win multipliers, scatters, and an earthquake feature, which removes the low paying symbols and leaves only the high paying symbols on the reels. Oh and the wild symbols are indestructible. This means that while other winning symbols will disappear and be replaced by others in a cascade, the wilds will stick around to help you make more wins.

I must not forget to mention the "free falls" feature which is just another name for a free spins round. This is triggered by landing either 3 free falls scatter symbols, or only 2 scatters which are joined by an adjacent wild symbol. During the free falls round the range of win multipliers is increased to between 3x and 15x. The features and layout give the game a return to player percentage of 95.8%, which is bang on average for a Red Tiger game.

Gonzo's Quest Megaways has built-in mobile compatibility, so you can try the game on a phone or tablet if you wish. The game looks fantastic no matter where you play, and the mechanics are identical. This is a fantastic Megaways slot, and I say that as someone who generally hates those games. Try this out here and forget about NetEnt's older version of the game. This one is way better.

I have to be honest, just like with Piggy Riches, I wasn't a huge fan of the idea of Gonzo megaways. But I can also admit that after trying the game a few times I changed my mind. It definitely isn't my favorite slot but it has good winning potential. I like the features it has and from all Red Tiger games it goes in my top list.

I love the original Gonzo quest but I really do not like this version of the game , the bonus is almost impossible to get and to add insult to injury even if you strike it lucky and get the feature most of the time it pays out penny's in comparison to the original Netent version which has massive payout potential well that's from my experience anyway

Gonzo Quest is my favorite game, so this Megaways version has a special place.
