About Jacks or Better

Playtech's Jacks or Better is a fun, quick paced video poker game, allowing you to gamble your winning in order to win bigger! The game gets its name from a hand unique to this game as in order to win you need to have at least a pair of Jacks.

How to play Jacks or Better video poker

Jacks or Better follows the conventional poker hands apart from one. You need to have at least a pair of Jacks or higher to win, this means a pair of anything less than a Jack will not be earning you money. You can set your bet level from 1 to 5 coins and set your coin value from $0.05 to $10.00.

When you have placed your bet and your hand has been dealt you choose which cards to Hold and then Draw the next hand. Your winnings are calculated on the basis of your final hand. Naturally the more you bet the more you can win but the game gives you another gambling perk.Once you have won money on a hand played you can choose to either collect your winning or gamble it further to earn more. If you choose to gamble the game takes you to a new screen where you can either bet that the next card will be red or black or if you are feeling very intuitive try to bet the suit of the card. The game saves the 5 cards that have gone before allowing you to calculate the odds. This helps, or at least gives you the impression that it does, even though you are told in the Help section that a new deck is used for every new card drawn.

All the Playtech's VP's have the same features and paying tables, they are all Jacks or Better - no lower pairs allowed which make them in fact one and the same game with a bit difference in graphics, at least from what I've tried till now in a free mode here.
