When I first opened the Star Joker slot from Play'n Go, I had to make sure that I hadn't accidentally selected one of the Jokerizer video slots from rival developer Yggdrasil. The games look extremely similar and share some of the same features. I wasn't a big fan of the Jokerizer games as I found them to be bland and devoid of features, and sadly I have the same opinion of Star Joker.
Star Joker is a 5 reel, 10 payline video slot set on a purple background with some lights that appear to be moving to and fro. The artwork is mostly comprised of classic slot machine symbols, with cherries, strawberries, plums, oranges, watermelons, bells, diamonds, and 7s dotting the reels, along with a Joker scatter and a gold star.
The feature set is pretty basic, with the Jokers serving as a scatter and spinning three of them will award you a free spins round. The Joker can also pop up during the free spins bonus round and becomes a wild symbol. If three or more Jokers pop up on the reels during the free spins, you are granted an additional 10 free spins. If you win, you can put your winnings at risk in a gamble feature, which lets you either select a card's colour or suit for a chance to win 2x or 4x the wagered amount, respectively.
The game itself looks beautiful but is nothing you haven't seen about a hundred times before, and the features aren't anything to write home about either. With that said, Play'n Go did do a nice job porting this game to mobile devices, as you can wager on your smartphones, and the experience is nearly identical to the desktop model.
While this game isn't one that I'll ever be playing again, you can give it a spin for yourself to see if it suits your fancy. Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
