I became aware of the steam punk trend a few years ago when I happened to see the screening of the horrible Will Smith movie Wild Wild West. For those of you not in the know, steam punk is a type of fiction that is based in the 19th century, yet sees the advancement of many steam powered gadgets such as aircraft, body parts, weapons and more. While I wasn't really a big fan of the film, I have to say that Net Entertainment's Steam Tower slot has swayed me a bit.
Steam Tower is a 5 reel, 15 payline video slot that features a cowboy with a steam powered harpoon gun that aims to save the pretty damsel in distress from a devious red dragon. The game itself features flat 2D graphics that consist of gear oriented poker card symbols, various towers, the hero, the damsel, and the dragon. The game's bonus features include both Wild Symbols and Stacked Wilds, Free Spins, and Win Multipliers that are set off during the Free Spin round. Multipliers grow as you ascend various floors in the steam tower itself, which continue as your free spins continue to progress.
The game's presentation isn't the best that I have seen from Net Entertainment, but the game still looks pretty good and plays smoothly. I particularly enjoyed the re-triggering free spins, and the highest I ended up getting to was the fifth level, but I had scored some staggering wins in the process, and I left a very happy camper.
If you are a fan of steam punk games or are looking for something that is just a little bit different, I would highly recommend you take a look at Steam Tower by Net Entertainment. The game may not be the prettiest product put out by this developer, but it is a lot of fun and I think you'll enjoy it.
