Sebastian from The Little Mermaid told us that the real party life was "under the sea" almost 25 years ago, but we don't get to partake in these spontaneous musical parties seeing as how people live on land and have to breathe oxygen. Fortunately, Microgaming has us covered with their new slot Fish Party, which transports us underwater where we can have fun with the various pieces of aquatic life in the ocean.
In terms of the game itself, Fish Party is a 5 reel, 243 ways to win video slot that contains a bevy of reel symbols, which include puffer fish, starfish, worms on a hook, hermit crabs, a king fish, a sultry looking female flounder, starfish treasure chests, and a clam that serves as the game's Scatter symbols. The graphics in this game are good, with all of the fish being well drawn, and there are animated air bubbles between the reels that rise up from the depths of the ocean floor. The animated symbols in the game are well done, with each symbol coming to life and dancing around in its spot in a unique way. This makes the game a look better looking than it might have otherwise been.
Sound is also done in a pleasant way, sounding a bit upbeat but not being too annoying and you can listen to it for a long time without reaching for the mute button.
Gameplay features include free spins with stacked wilds and super stacked symbols that can be re-triggered, with the game also offering stacked wilds on certain reels during normal spins. The free spins are triggered by spinning three or more clam scatter symbols on a single spin. There is also a gamble feature that you can use to try to double or quadruple your winnings after a spin, and it is presented in the usual "pick a card colour or suit" situation that bears no relevance to the theme of the slot. Apart from much there is not much to write home about, and this game is clearly a low key filler in Microgaming's release schedule.
