I will be straight up honest and tell you that I had no idea what Tokidoki was when I loaded up the Tokidoki Lucky Town slot from IGT for the first time. When the load screen came up, I noticed that I recognised the artwork somewhere, but had no idea what the heck a Tokidoki was. Apparently it's a lifestyle brand that was invented in the United States, but is based on Japanese chibi characters. The brand has proven to be very popular, and the characters can be found on clothes and toys around the world.
Tokidoki Lucky Town is a 5 reel, 40 payline video slot that is set against a backdrop of the popular characters. The game's symbols are all based on those figures and include a 10, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace for low paying symbols as well as a teddy bear girl, cactus girl, cow girl, unicorn, heart and crossbones, milk carton, mean unicorn, candy cane riding girl, and a vinyl record. The symbols all look very cute, if a bit childish, and left me wondering why IGT would promote a game that looks like something you'd see on Saturday morning television for children.
Feature wise, the game includes a Reel Reveal Feature, which shifts the reels to the left after a spin to reveal a new reel with an additional feature such as wilds, win multipliers, expanding wilds, and free spins.
While I feel that this game could be easily construed as being marketed to children, Tokidoki Lucky Town is fun to play with its unusual reel shifting mechanism. If you are a fan of all things sunshine and rainbows, then this game is meant for you.
