Cuteness levels have reached 1,000,000 in Evoplay Entertainment's Rocket Stars slot, wherein you take control of a rocket factory that employs cute kittens. These cats reportedly have the task of assembling a rocket of death that will reign destruction upon the enemies of Cattsburgh (I made that up), presumably the neighboring province of Barksville (I also made that up). Of course, the cats will never admit what they're up to, and say they're building the rocket to explore the cosmos. Do you believe them? I don't.
Rocket Stars is a 5 reel, 20 payline video slot that takes place outside at the rocket pad, where the cute kittens work on that instrument of death. The game's icons include low-paying icons like a green hex bolt, a pink screw, a blue Allen bolt, and a red gold bolt. Higher paying icons include a space glove, space boots, a jet pack, a space helmet, and a planet being orbited by satellites.
The features in the game include scatters, free spins, and Star Gates that reveal either scatters or high paying icons. The features and layout in the game give Rocket Stars a posted return to player percentage (RTP) of 96%, which is about average for what we see from an online slot.
I should note that the game is playable in mobile mode, which lets you spin the reels on your smartphone or tablet. The game looks great no matter where you decide to play, and I really like the smaller screen's compressed pixels here.
The slot itself is very cute, but I think that it's a bit drab. I really like the visuals but the feature set here is kind of boring, at least when I played it. The Space Gate feature is compelling, but it comes together very slowly. The same goes for building the rocket, which sets off those free spins. It takes so long to trigger the ship that you're going to likely be in the hole before it sets off.
With that said, if you enjoy having cuteness shot into your veins, Rocket Stars is probably a game you'll enjoy. The cats are no doubt cute, and even though they want to kill dogs, they'll manage to get you to help them build their machine of doom.
