When I first heard the term Necromancer, I thought it was one of those weirdos that likes to date corpses. Alas, it isn't that. Instead, a necromancer is just another word for a wizard or magician that can raise the dead. That's a relief, I think. I wasn't wanting to play Evoplay's Necromancer slot if my definition was the right one. When I actually started the game, I found a slot that looks unique, plays nice, and is actually a ton of fun.
Necromancer is a 5 reel, 40 payline video slot that takes place in a spooky castle yard, where a wizard is casting spells out of their book, all while a cauldron bubbles. Each spin of the reels sees a bunch of creepy creatures being summoned from the ground. These creatures include green skulls, purple ghosts, orange mummies, a white skeleton, a grey shield-wearing goon, a green hat soldier, a purple soldier, a mace-wielding skeleton, and a red commander. There are also Jack o' Lanterns that serve as wilds and treasure chests that serve as scatters.
Free spins are awarded when you score three scatters, and a random symbol is picked to don the reels with extra symbols, which can generate large wins. The camera shifts in this mode, and the visual result is very impressive.
As with all Evoplay slots, Necromancer can be played on desktop and mobile devices alike, looking and playing identical no matter the platform you choose. The game does have a theoretical return to player percentage (RTP) of 96%, which is about the standard we see from modern online slot releases.
I've played a lot of Evoplay games, and I think they generally stand out from the crowd. This game goes above and beyond though, as the 3D visuals and camera setup look freaking amazing. If you're looking for something unique to play, I cannot recommend Necromancer enough. It's spooky, silly, and doesn't involve anyone dating a dead body.
