Historically, the Silk Road was a road that moved goods from China through to the Mediterranean to deliver trade back and forth. The Silk Road came to fruition during the Han Dynasty, eventually disintegrating after the Ottoman Empire embargoed trade with the west following the Crusades. Silk Road by Aristocrat is a slot developed with this theme in mind, bringing a bit of an ancient look and feel to the reels.
Our apologies, this game is currently unavailable.
Silk Road is a 5 reel, 243 Ways to Win video slot that features a bright and vibrant theme, integrating many symbols that one would think of when they imagine the older Middle Eastern dynasties. Symbols in the game include card signs, ships, fortresses, treasures, wine, scrolls, and a Persian ruler. The game is not very impressive graphically though, no doubt due to the fact that Aristocrat has simply ported over the artwork from a game that was developed for land venues in 2003.
Sound is even worse, with the older sound set that Aristocrat uses really shining through with distortion and agitating win sounds. Do yourself a favour and mute this one.
In terms of features, Silk Road contains a lone Free Spins round, which is set off when the game reveals three Scatter Symbols on the reels. It is your main opportunity for big wins on this game as during free spins the bolt of silk wild symbol on reel 2 multiplies your wins by 3x and the same symbol on reel four multiplies them by 5x. If you get the both on a single payline and it is multiplied by 15x.
Personally, I found Silk Road to be a bit of a bore, with the game quickly becoming grating as the graphics and sound together really begin to get on your nerves after only a minute or so. The simplistic lone feature doesn’t really help matters either, as you can only spin the reels for so long before you want to see something extra, and the free spins mode has little to offer in that respect.
