About Double Happiness

A lot of Chinese culture we see, especially when playing casino games, harps on the topic of luck. Aristocrat's Double Happiness slot is a prime example of this, as the entire game has a happy go lucky theme based on the Chinese calligraphy symbol for joy, which is commonly associated with marriage in Chinese culture.

Double Happiness is a 5 reel, 25 payline video slot that has a Chinese theme to it, and the game's symbols include traditional slot symbols such as 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace, symbols, lanterns, firecrackers, drums, a monk with a fan, a scroll, the double happiness scatter symbol, and a dragon mask wild symbol. The presentation does look very good, and the game plays smoothly, without any hiccups experienced on my end whatsoever.

The game has a free spins round that is triggered when you land three or more scattered double happiness symbols on a single spin. During the free spins feature, there are two "roaming wilds" added to the game that move about the reels randomly. Should they randomly move onto the same position, any winning line that includes the wild will have its prize multiplied by 10.

Having spent a bit of time with Double Happiness, I feel that this game is decent, if not anything spectacular. The game plays a lot like the Aristocrat land slots that I've played in the past, which can be considered both a good and a bad thing. It's good in the aspect that the game is safe and what you'd expect to see from a land slot, but it could also be bad in that the game really isn't innovative at all and it doesn't offer anything new to players. You really are chasing that magical 10x multiplied big win on a free spins round where the roaming wilds converge onto the same position. However with an RTP barely over 93% its fair to say that the game can crush you fairly quickly in your pursuit.

With that being said, there are going to be many people that will love Double Happiness, as it makes them think of the good old days at their favourite land casino and that is certainly something to consider when playing this game.
