Bitcoinwallet.com scam site

9 replies • Last post

I advise you to avoid Bitcoinwallet.com, it is a scam site.
I received the first order of $20 Bitcoin from CLchips Shop, I wanted to send 0.0005 BTC but I received the following message: Please enter a value less than or equal to 0.00006856.
I sent an email to find out what's going on and I received the following answer: Current blockchain transaction fees are 1% to pay for our service + 0.0005 BTC for mining to ensure fast delivery.
therefore nothing to do. after receiving the second order of $20 Bitcoin from CLchips Shop my balance was 0.0010 BTC, I wanted to send 0.0005 BTC but I still received the following message: Please enter a value less than or equal to 0.00005460.
You can never send Bitcoin from this wallet, you always get this message: your balance is lower than the fee required to send a payment to the blockchain.

Everyone should really use their own wallet on your computer or phone instead of these online web wallets, so you have full control over what you do with your Bitcoin. Only send it to an online wallet or exchange if you want to convert to or from another currency.

Read our page on Bitcoin here which explains why and the best way to transact with Bitcoin. Then go to the Bitcoin website where it helps you choose a wallet that will work best for you.

In your opinion, what are the best Crypto Wallets that currently exist? for beginners, not for experts.

The Bitcoin website I linked before has a guide to help you choose and you can pick an option that says you are a beginner. I use this one called Green on my phone and its easy enough to set up.

I use Bitcoin Core on my computer. It's the "official" wallet. It takes a while to download the full block chain but once it's there it's on your computer so no one else is in charge of your funds like on online wallets. It has a GUI and is nice enough to use for beginners.

That is true but I'd say Bitcoin Core is not for beginners. You are running a full node that validates transactions that should be running 24/7. Downloading the full blockchain (currently 351gb) can take weeks in many parts of the world, and that assumes that you have enough free disk space to store it and more as it grows.

Is there a few wallets, like trading wallet, private wallet or anything like that?
Sometimes you need to send your btc to another wallet from the same site in order to send it anywhere.
Another reason would be that your btc plus whatever fee being charged don't add up to their minimum withdrawl requirements.
Ed's right though, follow his advice with wallets and this sort of crap won't happen anymore. I've been there, more than once, its frustrating.

Yes that is the one. They changed name from Green Address to Green recently. It is developed by a company called Blockstream. There is a link in my post above to their website.
