Suggestions thread!

Hi, why not add in shop NDB bonuses on some casinos which powered by RTG(for our USA friends of course). Make the price something like 50 chips, and go? I think we will have more and more people just come and say hello, making posts, etc, and earning free chips in casino? I think this is good way to rewards forum members...
Also, forum main page on site have not so many likes or sharing on facebook or twitter, but this is important! Lets make likes! While awarding members with 5 cl chips for introducing yourself, why not add promo like our page - get 5 or 10 chips? Let people know about casinolistings!

What about sports betting related news, similar to those in the gambling news section, think it could be an interesting addition probably.

Would it be at all possible to make the forum (instead of being solitary sections) have a main forum page with sections and subsections for "Online casinos discussion", "Exclusive casino bonuses", etc?

Perhaps it's just the forum technology that you have, but this was the very first thing that I'd noticed about the site. I like to browse, and it would just make it that much more convenient. If the software can't handle it, then that's unfortunate but I'll just have to deal with it 😐

Ah. Is there any quick way to accessing that outside of bookmarking or some other sort of way?

(A way to access it from the home page easily)

Ah yeah I see what you mean, they way the main menu works you can't easily get access to it. For now you could right click the forum tab and open in a new tab, but I'll see if we can add the index to the menu itself.

Edit: its fixed now.

I'm unsure about whether this is available but is there a way to search through casinos for the types of withdrawals they can do? Example: searching for casinos that allow Skrill as a withdrawal option, or what have you
(nevermind, found it)

New suggestion:

Is there a way to delete posts? I couldn't find an icon to do so.

The system is set up to only allow admins to delete posts.

Anyway for the benefit of anyone else who reads your post, you can find exactly what you asked for using the main menu under the casinos tab - i.e.

Casinos by banking method

Is there a way to search casinos/games with an additional option of checking if they have a banking method?

What I mean by this, for example, if I'm searching for casinos that feature Microgaming games, but only want to use Skrill, is there a way to do that? I feel like a "search" feature with checkbox menus would help with that. I don't want to search through pages and pages for casinos that I like.

Not currently but we can work on something. I do like your idea. So for example you would like to search for a casino using certain criteria like this (I've added a few off the top of my head):

Software/games
Banking method
Jurisdiction
Country exclusions
Minimum rating
Live dealer games

... etc

Anything else that you would like to see as criteria?

Potentially, something relating to bonuses as well? (Like a descending order of the rating for their bonuses, for sort orders)

That could make it a lot trickier due to the way the database is structured but I'll see what I can do.

Oh! Perhaps an easier way of doing that is to have the bonuses list isolate for variables (keep the bonuses list as is, but add in options to check for software/games, banking method, etc.)

Ok we have the first cut. It allows you to search for casinos by specifying various criteria. Let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements. We'll add it to the main Casinos menu under "Casino search engine" but you can just click here for now.

We'll work on adding a similar search engine for bonuses next.

I like it! Perhaps for the first search box instead of "Casino name:" it should be "key words:" or something of that sort?

The "Include casinos that don't accept players from your country" is a nice touch and adds to the user accessibility. Well done.

Maybe, but it needs to be clear that the contents of that box only apply to the name of the casino.

As for your suggestion Scott, we actually tried that a long time ago. As I said before...

CL-Ed wrote:

We used to have free chips a few years ago, long before LCB copied us. 😉 Its cool, the owner of that site is a friend of mine and we share ideas.

We had a few problems though with either casinos unwilling to offer them, or not happy with players claiming them and winning. Plus sometimes it would take days for the casino to credit them, new staff at the casino didn't know about the deal and what was going on, and it became a recurring hassle where everyone was unhappy with the process. So I decided that it is easier and better to just offer Skrill or Neteller then people can do what they like at whatever casino they want. Depositing $20 with Skrill is better than a $20 free chip anyway as there won't be any restrictions on winnings or playthrough if you don't take a bonus.

You can do that.

If you're looking at the forum index that lists all the topics, click the links that say "1 new", or "3 new" etc.

If you are on the first page of a multi-page thread there is a link straight to the first unread post as well, but I concede that we need to make it more apparent that you can click it!

Allowing affiliate links to be used in certain circumstances here in the forums as long as it is used naturally in the content and not spam or the post specifically promoting the affiliate link. I think it would be fair if the poster is contributing valuable knowledge/content to just replace the word of the casino with their link. It would be the same as how people have their bitcoin address in some forums for tips if the info provided helped them. I think allowing this would definitely inspire some veteran players to provide more knowledge and quality content that would help out many players. More happy players = more visitors here. More visitors = more money for the site as ultimately most will still sign up through the "Recommended Casinos" sections and whatnot. There's plenty to share, and it would be a win-win for all parties (poster, reader, & site). Just my 2 cents.

Furthermore, I dont see why a post like the person who is attepting to sell domains or something rediculous like that was retained, with just the links removed, but I put a natural link in with my extensive post and it never even showed up at all. I dont see how that thread provides any quality content to the forums, espcially considering the whole point of the thread (the URLs) were removed, and rightfully so. But shouldnt that thread be deleted? Im still confused over such administrative decisions, as I would think quality >>>>> quantity when it comes to posts at such a forum, no?

You're a new user here and straight away recommending CL stuff how to run their site? Quite arrogant I think.

Well I am a relatively new member here at casinolistings and I must say it has become one of favorite forum / sites to browse through, the news posts are the most up to date I have seen online and the members here are chilled and friendly so I just to to high five the CL team on doing a good job 👍
only thing I would love to see in the shop is some branded Casino-listings gear like a CL Cap and T shirt and to match maybe a cl branded wallet or money clip to really boost confidence and swag when visiting a local land based casino , I purchased a LCB T shirt and its my favorite shirt in my wardrobe 🚬 so much so thats its pretty faded out now and showing its age but its still in my top 10 to wear, an ecopayz voucher could also be a great addition, the members here have somehow made this forum feel more homely and welcoming compared to the others out there , what would be a fun thing to try out and maybe add some more interaction between members would be the ability to tip a member a cl chip for a great post or an epic screenshot or the news on a promo or no deposit offer before it hits the press , well thats my 2 cents worth , for now 💻

I understand your point of view and it does have some merit. However there are two main problems I have with it. The first is that forums that allow affiliate links attract spammers like flies to a pile of freshly laid turd. And I would rather spend my days doing productive stuff than spending more time than I already do trying to work out whose posts are genuine and whose aren't.

Secondly (and I hate this next part but it is reality), given we have been attacked by scumbag casino owners in the past with what is called "negative SEO" we also have to be mindful of how Google interprets links on keywords in our pages. Tagged affiliate links can set off alarms at Google with a misinterpretation that we are selling the links for money. Not a day goes by that we don't receive an email from someone trying to buy links on our news articles or pages of the site, despite the fact that we clearly state on our contact form that we don't sell them. So judging by that I would say that the process is quite common and it is something that we really want to stay away from. You may ask but don't our own referral links have the same problem and the answer is no because we redirect them through a page we control that we block Google from spidering so that it never goes through them.

Normally stuff like that gets deleted really quick because we have a lot of custom code that is used to try to auto detect spammers. Unfortunately that one slipped through but for obvious reasons I am not going to go into the details of exactly why. Then what happened is a few people replied to the thread and potentially earned CLchips for doing so. If we delete the thread those people will lose the CLchips they earned for their replies and given they were doing the right thing and looking out for the site and telling the spammer where to go, I felt the best thing to do was to just lock the thread and let everyone keep their CLchips. Hopefully the next spammer who comes along may see it and decide not to bother. I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen though!

That is something that is on our radar. I know the owner of LCB very well and I'll speak to them about where and what they did to get them I imagine we would just have to come up with a design and get them supplied via an online site that prints custom designs.

That should be real easy to add, so we'll try to get something up this week. I am loving my EcoPayz account more than I did Neteller btw.

Yeah we try real hard to keep it friendly and no flame wars or abuse, and over the years I think I can count the number of times anything like that happened on one hand. We could add a tip button, but if you want you can already do this! Just click a user's picture and then click the link that says "Give CLchips".

Useful info on both posts Ed, thanks for all that, personally I won't be disappointed if some spammer threads being deleted and I lost couple of chips - safety first they say, but I think you found a smarter solution (for all parties) with locking of the topic 👍
I'm sure all those years since CL is online had been a learning experience for all the CL stuff, it usually is...in any area.
I personally don't like affiliate links being allowed in any forums, like you said it attract spammers and also many guys who get paid by casinos for example, added their banners in the signature just for posting...to say the least it doesn't look good and like you said it could have other worst consequences for the site.
But I'm stopping now cause I'm too agree with you in this post and it might look suspicious... 😀

👧 You can do better them than Ed, that clothing shop fashion taste is suspicious 😉 I never shopping clothes there..they have all ... in white 🙂
But I like the idea of some cool branded items, something cool that everybody would like..don't know what it is 😀 being awarded in a contests for example..just a thought.

Great Ed, although I still don't have an account there, with the way Skrill doing lately I might need to create one soon.
Did they require a verification for proof of address Ed? That always seems to be a problem for me when I have to proof my identity... online anyway..
