Lottery syndicate - anyone interested?

7 replies • Last post

I'm making my own suggestion here after reading about you guys in America entering the $540 million Mega Millions lottery.

Would you be interested in having a lottery syndicate running once a week or so? Members could buy a share in the ticket using CLchips, and we would pay for the ticket.

We'd need someone trusty to buy the ticket each week wherever the lottery is running. What do you think?

I'd be down for it for sure. That sounds quite interesting.

Where I live we have Powerball and Mega Millions, so if anyone wanted those tickets I could buy them.

I might definitely be interested in doing this. So, would it just be for US lottery or all over the world? Just want to understand. Maybe you should start a poll in case people don't notice this thread? Just another thought.

I would also be willing to purchase tickets or be a "back-up buyer," lol.

The thing is the Powerball is now 2.00 per draw and that is two times per week. Mega is still 1.00. Supposedly chances are now better for Powerball, but I am not totally convinced. Both are active in an equal number of states from what I just read on the lottery site.

Anyway, keep me posted as more details are set forth. Thanks! 🙂

This is kind of interesting:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-03-29/megamillions-jackpo...

http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/news/2012/03/30/mega-millions-101-what-...

MegaMillions draws every Tuesday and Friday.

Powerball is on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

One article I read said the jackpot is so high that someone could potentially purchase enough tickets/number possibilities to ensure a win. They would have to buy like 176 million tickets and they would win over 276 million (approximate numbers, trying to write this from memory) Either way, it came out to still winning a nice chunk of change, lol.

Anyone want to loan me 176 million? I promise you a return on OUR money, lol! 😉

Yeah I was figuring the mega jackpots available in the USA, seeing as our local lotteries offer tiny prizes in comparison.

It might be a bit of a hassle doing it weekly though. What do you think?

Well, what if you did when the jackpot reaches a certain size? Like if the jackpot breaks the 100 million barrier you could start the CL-syndicate. I mean that would make it so that it doesn't run every week.

Plus, who wants to go after a paltry $95 million, when you can go for triple digits?

Hahha $95 million. Pfft small fry like that ain't worth our time!

In reality, I'm still thinking about the best way to organise it and participate without creating an administrative nightmare!
