Statement regarding scammer Robert Little

7 replies • Last post

It has come to our attention that starting last weekend some criminal using the name Robert Little has been signing up to various online advertising networks using our email address and claiming to represent us. This is an extremely dumb thing to do as naturally we receive all the confirmation emails for each sign-up. Clearly "Robert" isn't very bright.

However I expect that he will attempt to strike a pre-paid deal with these networks with the promise of placing advertising on this site and then disappear with the money, leaving us with the blame.

Let me be clear:
1. There is no-one who works with or for us named Robert Little.
2. We don't sell advertising on our site.

If you run an online advertising network and have been contacted by someone with this name, or any other name for that matter, claiming to work for or represent this site, you are being scammed.

These are the crook's details:

Name: Robert Little
Address: 196 High Road, London, London, UKN22 8HH
Phone: 07407611292
IP Address: 84.13.56.181

Go get'em Ed! Sucks to see people trying to scam others and throwing somebody else under the bus. Hope he gets what he deserves.

Signing up to accounts that cannot be used because they have to be confirmed may sound dumb but what if the goal of that person is not to strike advertising deals? What if that person has a more nefarious motive? For every site that requires email confirmation, there are hundreds that don't. Therefore, I advise that you monitor the web to make sure that the person is not doing something else.

Oh yes I have no doubt that is true. That is one of the reasons why I posted this public message in the hope that anyone doing a little background checking will find it. And if anyone does get scammed we can point to this to show that it had nothing to do with us.

There are so many scammers and scams running these days it isn't even funny. Sorry to hear you were targeted by this idiot. They make me so angry Remember me posting about my mom and those who called her to tell her there was that horrible virus in her computer, claiming to be from her provider? People also set up shop in hotels at tax time and steal people's refunds Many scammers are very difficult to catch, and for every one that goes down, there are ten more who pop up, sometimes the same people setting up a different scam. It really makes me angry. We all really have to not only use common sense but be diligent in all we do and with all emails and calls received.

Yeah we haven't heard anything more since that post. Presumably he signed up to a bunch of sites over a short period of time. I hope none of them got ripped off.

I looked up his street address and it resolves to a mail-drop facility called Cordon Bell Mail Services. It looks like people get an address with them when they don't want to expose their real address. I contacted them and pointed out that their customer was a criminal but never received a reply, so I have no idea whether they care or even did anything about it.
