New page that tracks jackpots above 100% RTP

2 replies • Last post

We have been working on adding a feature to our jackpot tracker that calculates the live RTP (return to player) for jackpots based on the jackpot's current value, as long as we know the break-even amount. This usually means a card game or video poker as that is far easier to work out than a slot machine.

For those of you that like to play with an advantage over the house you can use this page to keep track of jackpots that are near or over 100% RTP. In fact there are a couple of juicy Caribbean Stud jackpots on there right now and Microgaming's Triple 7s jackpot is almost at break-even.

The goods: Jackpots with known break-even values

So check it out and let me know what you think. We'll be trying to add more to the list over the coming days, just as soon as we can get a maths boffin to work out the formulas and break-even numbers. 😉

Make sure to remember that in order to maximize the amount of payback that players will want to use a strategy to play the game.

Do you know where people can find strategies for particular video poker games?

Yes and no. It depends on the game. If you're making a side bet in Caribbean Stud or Let It Ride for example, then that side bet has the RTP listed on the page by virtue of the jackpot amount and there is no strategy involved in making the side bet. There's a strategy to playing the regular game with an ante bet but that bet won't affect the jackpot RTP.

If its video poker on the other hand there is always a correct strategy to play. In fact the strategy can change with the size of the jackpot. For example when it is really high it can be a better play to hold only 2 or 3 cards to a royal flush when you otherwise might discard them. The Wizard of Odds always has good strategies and also a useful video poker strategy calculator that tells you what to do based on the paytable which you can edit.

Video Poker strategy is definitely something that we could improve on here though.
