Mr James casino not paying

2 replies • Last post

A week ago I played on Mr James Casino site I deposited 400 eur or so and then had a nice win making my balance 700 euro. At no time did I use any bonuses just straight cash from my bank. I submitted a withdrawal request and then went through several days of pain getting them to agree that the documents were acceptable. They then said:
Please note that according to the Terms and Conditions of the bonus that was credited to your account, there is a max-winning restriction that you should comply with when requesting a withdrawal.
Therefore, we have processed the amount of 150.00 EUR to the method you have chosen and the rest was voided.

Roger, I've not come across Mr James before and it isn't in our database. Taking a quick look at it I'm sorry to say that you have likely been playing at a rogue casino site.

Your profile indicates that you are in the UK. This Mr James site is not licensed by the UKGC. In fact it only holds a Curacao license, which is a worthless jurisdiction that is used by casinos to give themselves an air of respectability when in fact they are not regulated or monitored at all.

Quote:

Mr James Casino is owned and operated by Mr James Casino NV at Kaya Polkar Willemstad st. 3, Curacao under master license #1997/JAZ granted by Curacao Gaming Authority.

Their T&Cs reveal them to be a penny-pinching operation that is trying as hard as it can to avoid paying anyone. Look at these shockers:

Not only are they illegally accepting UK players as customers but they halve the withdrawal limit for them. Nice.

Quote:

13.4. Withdrawal requests will be limited to a maximum of €3,000* per thirty (30) day period. Any requests exceeding these amount will be declined, and the funds will be returned to your Account balance. You may then place a new withdrawal request in-line with this limit.
* €1,500 for players from United Kingdom

Here they are actively trying to discourage people from placing limits on their deposits by penalising them when they withdraw:

Quote:

13.5. Should you place deposit limits on your account, any withdrawal request will be limited to five (5) times the deposit limit, and not exceed €3,000* per thirty (30) day period. Any requests exceeding this amount will be declined, and the funds will be returned to your Account balance. You may then place a new withdrawal request in-line with this limit.
* €1,500 for players from United Kingdom

Limiting the amount they have to pay out to small depositors:

Quote:

13.6.1. If a player's accumulated deposit amount does not exceed €500 at the time of a gain, the player will be entitled to withdraw up to 5x the last deposit. This maximum payout will be enforced also in cases where the player made additional deposits which were deemed at the sole discretion of the Casino to have been made in order to exceed the €500 accumulated deposit amount.

Limiting the amount they have to payout to anyone who hasn't played for a while:

Quote:

13.6.2. An inactive player (who has not made deposits for 2 months or more) will be limited on his winnings to 5 times his last deposit.

Deliberately slow withdrawal process:

Quote:

13.7. We maintain a target of five (5) working days for the processing of payouts but may not be held liable for a specific period of time in this regard.

What I don't understand is whether they paid you out €550 in total (including your €400 deposit), or if they only paid out €150 in total. If the latter I would be filing a chargeback with your credit card issuer to recover your deposited money.

Always play it safe! Consult our list of rogue casinos and warnings before depositing at a new casino.
