Royal Oak Casino

16 replies • Last post

I'm having problems with Royal Oak Casino who claim to be licensed in curaçao. I asked them to close my account due to poor customer support. They would either take ages to reply or not reply at all. My account balance was £12568. They have now restricted the account and will not communicate with me at all. Anyone else have and experience with this casino or have any advice which may help?

My first reaction was to say oh no you're playing at a rogue casino. But then I looked it up and I was thinking of Silver Oak not Royal Oak. I've never come across this one but after looking at it the news is still not good.

Your location appears to be in the UK. If so you've made a big mistake by playing at a Curacao "licensed" casino. They are not recognised by the UKGC and they are not permitted to allow people from the UK to play for real money. They are breaking UK law by doing so.

"Licensed in Curacao" means absolutely nothing for you as a player. They are a license fee collection business that hands out seals that casinos use to make unwitting players think that they are regulated. They do not regulate casinos, they do nothing to ensure player safety, and they do not assist in any kind of dispute.

That said, and its a bit of a moot point, but I can't find any evidence on their website that they are in fact licensed in Curacao or anywhere else for that matter. What else I found there was alarming.

Quote:

7.12. Maximum net winnings in any 24-hour period per account are limited to 5000€. Maximum withdrawable amount per account is limited to 50000€. The maximum withdrawable amount per account is limited to 7000€/month. Withdrawable amount will be split on a series of equal withdrawals.

That is stunning. I've never seen a daily win limit so low. Furthermore it is the first time I have ever come across an online casino that limits the total amount anyone can withdraw at their casino. Following that rule to the letter, you could deposit €100k and they would only ever allow you to withdraw €50k of it.

How about this clause designed to prevent them from paying out big winners:

Quote:

7.20 A player with 1 deposit only will be eligible to cashout a maximum of 15x the initial deposit amount. All further winnings will be removed from the account upon withdrawal request.

That is enough for me to class them as a rogue casino.

Then I saw that at the bottom of their home page they have a link to a site called "Pick7 Bet" which is specifically targeting players that are looking for casinos that are not on the GamStop list. In other words they are actively targeting problem gamblers that have excluded themselves from regulated casinos because of their gambling problems. Aside from being morally and ethically repugnant, it would probably be classed as outright criminal conduct if they were in the UK.

I'm sorry but you picked a casino run by criminals. I don't like your chances of getting your money back from them as they have set things up to make that as difficult as possible for you.

Assuming you deposited using a credit card, you should seriously consider filing chargeback claims with your bank to recover your deposits before the allowable period expires. You could also consider reporting the site to the UKGC in order to prevent them from preying on more UK players.

Thank you so much for taking the time to research and reply. Your advice is appreciated. I've contacted the UKGC and will try and claim my deposit back through my bank. I had read their T&C's but didn't check their license which I will definitely do from now on. Do you know if I can report the website as fraudulent to anyone?

My word that is totally evil quoting Ed quoting the casinos terms

Quote:

A player with 1 deposit only will be eligible to cash out a maximum of 15x the initial deposit amount. All further winnings will be removed from the account upon withdrawal request.

that is by far the most dodgy term I think I have seen in a casinos terms and conditions so evil that I am actually lost for words , This is a new low that is the lowest a casino can go , I would just count the funds left in my account as gone and take it as a lesson learned , sorry this happened to you the casino deserves to be hung in the public square

My first thought was just like Ed's that you're talking about Silver Oak which is not a good casino either. I haven't heard of the casino you mentioned before but I really hope you will find some justice.

The UKGC is your best option. However don't get your hopes up because the reality is that Royal Oak have probably made themselves untouchable by using shelf companies in different jurisdictions to hide who they really are. The UKGC could demand they stop accepting UK players but that's about all they can do.

It blows my mind the length some companies will go through to scam their players. Especially in regulated markets.

any transaction.

I do not understand why these casinos dont realise people do check out the background info on there websites especially with false licensing etc, that is simply imoral and wrong

The problem is that most people don't bother checking anything.

That is an issue, when I first started out playing at sites I never used too, Its something you need to be made aware of very early on when you start to play online etc.

Your credit card company will not get you paid winnings. They are an option via filing a chargeback if you have decided that you have no chance of being paid and wish to instead recover your deposits.
