Bovada trying to steal $6600 from me

54 replies • Last post

I signed up for Bovada 10 days ago now. I used bitcoin for an initial withdrawal and also took a welcome bonus. I lost initial deposit and deposited another $490 with bitcoin.

I ended up working my bonus up to $3700 and requesting a withdrawal... this is where the trouble begins. They made a big deal about verification and I submitted every possible item they needed. They ended up unlocking my account and I verified with them several times that things were good to go.

I ran my account up to $6700 and now they have locked it and permanently deleted account citing bonus abuse. I also received an email stating that bonuses are only for rec betters.

I've tried multiple times to get my money and they said no can do. Please help someone!

How much were you wagering on average? High wagers like $20-$100 per spin seem to count as "bonus abuse" at many sites.

Yeah I usually play a fair amount per play. They sent me something along the lines of "bonuses are for recreational players only... blah blah blah." Absolutely no misuse of anything though. What I hate is they won't let me talk to someone and I'm spending hours on that damn live chat per day

That is not good at all. I tried to reply to your post on my thread but it seems to have been blocked.

I cannot see how betting high can be called bonus abuse. Casino loyalty programs always encourage higher bets and higher volume as they know they have the advantage.

Original deposit was 4/25. It's been about 10 days. Took about 7 to verify identity and then hit me with bonus abuse after I hit $6600 and requested withdrawal

If they have only just closed it, I would keep trying to contact them. I have been waiting 4 days for a reply so far. If they don't help, keep posting and try other sites too. Some have reps with the casino who can help.

These things can take a few days or a week at least at the best of times, and we're not in the best of times at the moment obviously. So please try to be patient while we do our thing.

I have uploaded the complete transaction history. The only bonus that I took was the initial deposit bonus and then you will see another bonus that I contacted support about and they deducted it at that time. You will then see the smaller $20-40 random rewards that I used as I earned them based off playing history.

Am I missing something here? What would possibly be bonus abuse? I utilized bonuses that the system gave me.

The entire concept of bonus abuse sounds like nonsense to me. At least you have access to your account!

Bovada has a clause tucked away in their bonus terms (#10) that for any deposit where you use a bonus, the max casino bet cannot exceed 20% of the deposit and the max sports wager cannot exceed 50% of the deposit.

I haven't studied your screenshots too much, but it looks like that obscure rule may have been violated upon your initial $491 deposit if you placed a $400 sports bet afterwards (not sure I'm reading this right).

I get why the casinos place max bet rules on table games/slots but does it seem strange on sports bets?

The lesson here is to just not use bonuses unless you enjoy reading a lot of legaleze to make sure you're not violating some rule so they can refuse payouts.

What's more frustrating is that since the sports betting software is completely developed by them, it's completely possible for them to programmatically prevent wagers that violate bonus terms. Yet they don't. Also, at what point did they determine bonus abuse was a factor and decide to not pay out? If they continue allowing deposits while being aware of bonus abuse and know they won't payout, that's pretty bad.

Yes I did make a $400 sports bet but it's not like that was unlike anything normal for me. I continued to make $500+ max bets the whole time.

They did not cite bonus abuse until I tried to withdrawal the $6700. I did see that 20% Clause which is a joke. Thanks for the feedback. Anyone have any advice on what I should do?

But the crazy thing is, all of the original bonus that was granted was lost. It wasn't until second deposit that didn't have a bonus attached, that I won the money. Not sure if that matters

I don't have access. I had to beg them to send me that history. My funds were seized and account closed

If that's the reason they're claiming (and without them specifying it's pure speculation), I agree it's BS that they'd let you continue depositing and then claim bonuses abuse on a bonus-free deposit.

Yeah he has good connections at these places since this site is, what I imagine to be a pretty large affiliate. Obviously nothing is 100%, but he usually has better results that individual players trying to resolve their issues.
