cafecasino.lv Shut Down Account - Confiscated Winnings

11 replies • Last post

I have played on cafecasino.lv for three years and deposited over $250k on to their site during that timeframe. I have never had any issues with the site or withdrawing winnings until now.

I recently won $9k through one of their bonuses and cleared the rollover requirements necessary to request a withdrawal. However, after submitting that withdrawal they disabled my account and requested proof of identification. I sent in the requested documents but did not hear back from them. Over two weeks went by and I finally got through to their customer service who stated my account had been banned because i was identified as a non-recreational player who had abused their bonuses which was a violation of their T&C's.

Some of the relevant points from their T&C's state:

"Sanctions may be in the form of increased rollover requirements or loss of bonus privileges altogether for the offending Account as well as any linked Accounts. We reserve the right to restrict eligibility for special offers and bonuses when necessary. This includes but is not limited to placing geographic restrictions on match bonuses due to bonus abuse."

I have never had any of the other sanctions they suggest placed on my account in the time I have played on their site. I have played the same exact way the entire time claiming their bonuses and trying to clear them in order to withdraw. They had no problem with the way I was playing when I was losing money, however, once I win they immediately claim I am non-recreational, abusing bonuses, and confiscate my funds.

Not sure what options I have at this point but wanted to share the store and see if anyone has gone through something similar or can assist with retrieving my funds.

Did they tell you how you qualify as a non-recreational player? Have you had issues like this with other online casinos?

They said that because I was depositing multiple times to claim bonuses and then withdrawing after completing the rollover. For instance they have an unlimited bonus with a maximum deposit of $200. So say I wanted to deposit $1,000 on their site. I would make 5 $200 deposits so that I could earn the bonus on each deposit.

No, I have never run in to this issue before and I also play on Bovada, Ignition, and Slots which I believe are all owned by the same company. Never had this happen before and its extremely frustrating.

I don't get how they'd distinguish between if you were initially planning on depositing $1000 and then split it up into 5 $200 amounts, vs busting a deposit and deciding to deposit again.

This is idiotic. Playthrough for bonuses is setup by casinos so that you're statistically likely to lose your funds before meeting playthrough. I think everyone who plays with bonuses gets that.

If they were going to disable your account, they should have done that before letting you keep depositing and winning.

For what it's worth, after making a few withdrawals, CafeCasino basically said I was too lucky and disabled not only bonuses for my account, but comp points. So even if I kept depositing bonus-free and earning points based on my playthrough, I couldn't reap any benefits of loyalty. Why the hell would I want to keep playing there? So now I just play bonus-free on Bovada.

Those online casinos you play at, a couple for sure, are blacklisted on a few casino review sites I know of, that would be a clear indication on why they're ripping you off

This has happened to me on Slots.LV, Cafe Casino and Ignition. I am no longer eligible for bonus's or comp points which makes it pointless to keep playing on those sites.

Unfortunately this isn't uncommon, if you manage to win from a bonus more than once, it's possible that you'll be marked as a bonus abuser which shouldn't be the case.

I never received my funds and my account remains closed. They kept giving me the same answers and I eventually just gave up on the situation since I wasn't able to make any headway dealing directly with them and no one I turned to was able to assist in the matter.

Hi Vart, not sure about US law, but in Australia you can claim back deposits for over 6 months through MasterCard/visa chargebacks when fraud is involved.
Given the amount of your deposits, it may be worth pursuing this with your bank. Once they refuse to pay your winnings for no valid reason, you can claim fraud for the deposits they did take. You might get more than the 9k this way as well!
