general hobby thread ...please feel free to post some hobby related stuff

because i have been waiting for material from china for ages and i
could no longer work, i started another project in between

AT-ST hasbro toy conversation

now what is a toy conversation?
some star wars collectible toys are just too ugly to put at home, but offer
a solid base to make a nice model out of them. in addition, they are relatively
cheap and larger than model kits. Sure there are also large model kits, but
they can quickly cost 400-500 € or more. of course you have to invest a little
bit of work but it's worth it. so a toy conversation is a a modified toy.
in this case i tryed to turn a hasbro AT-ST toy into a modell.

this is not the final result...i have to repaint/airbrush it and
i planed to put it into a little diorama...so far i did all modification
and primed the AT-ST

what I've changed:

i closed all open plastic columns and gaps with plastic filler
reshaped the complete window section and added new window covers
closed the large head cover and filled the gaps with plastic filler
cut of the knee fender from the legs
cut free the recesses on the legs
added a new handrail
added tubes and cables to the head and the base
added details on the back of the head and under the head
added details on the inside of the legs
added the running springs for the lower legs
closed all holes for screws with plastic filler

Is your diorama going to have Ewoks bashing the top of the cockpit with stones? It'd be great to see you crafting some Ewoks! 😂

no barbadosslim93 this will not be an endor
diorama .... so no ewoks. this will be a hangar maintained like diorama
with just a few imperial droids and maybe 1-2 imperial mechanics. i do some droid test prints at the moment. anyway maybe if i find some good ewok print files i will think about an endor diorama with ewoks

I love how you are able to create custom parts with a 3d printer and add to the model yourself.

I think that you all Star Wars geeks would like this video clip.
If you already saw or know it, just skip it 🙂

thanks ... yes there are some comparable videos that also show the proportions. I didn't know this until now. I think it's very nice that you can see a few real buildings in comparison, such as the eifel tower, etc.

vomvom, have you checked out Star Wars Squadrons? It's a combat flight sim where you play on both the Empire and New Republic (Rebels) after the events of Endor. I'm a few hours in and it's really good so far. I thought you may like it.

i saw an ad that someone had posted in one of the starwars groups on fb. But since I actually don't play anymore and I neither have a game console nor a computer that is fast enough to play, I lack the possibilities even if I wanted to...thanks anyway

some wip pics of my tie intercepter and my little beach diorama with
a crashed tie intercepter...

surf waves and gout / foam are still missing on the dioram. unfortunately I cannot continue working on it because it is too cold to process epoxyb (unfortunately I have to work on it in the basement because of the epoxy fumes)

I've been playing a video game recently called 'Persona 4 Golden'. It's an RPG game that's turn-based and set in Japan. It's actually quite interesting, as it is a coming of age tale that sees the protagonists coming to terms with their personalities that they don't want to acknowledge exist.

I have trailer of the opening sequence, which shows off the general style of the game. Persona games ooze style, and their soundtracks and visuals are both great.

So I got Cyberpunk and it plays "okay" on my PS5, but there's so many bugs in the game that it really bothers me. I got a refund and will pick it back up later when the errors are resolved with patches. The game looks pretty decent though, and I like the ideas behind it, but it just has too many weird bugs to be enjoyable.

oh yeah i heard about it ... my friend plays it on his pc and he keeps
texting me fb messenger messages in which he rants about the game...
i mean...how stupid is that ?
if your game isn't finished then you just postpone the damn release
date ... and you don't just publish it anyway. i can't understand that ...
that can only be a negative business in the end

thanks slim...!
sorry but what you mean when you say "Do you put these on display" ?
this diorama is ready...the only thing what is left to do...glueing the diorama
on a a slightly larger base plate and then sand is poured all around which is fixed with thinned wood glue. the wood glue hardens completely transparent and you can only see the sand .... to give the diorama more of this mos pelgo city look...you know

ahhh...now i know what you mean ... and that's really a bit of a problem.
I've been thinking about how to set up the finished items for a while now
and have not yet come to a satisfactory solution...but it is really time to find a solution
