Add This to the List of Stupid Ways I've Hurt Myself

5 replies • Last post

So yesterday my daughter decided she wanted to play Fortnite in our van, so I had to connect some HDMI cables to get it working. I reached into the middle of the vehicle to adjust some settings, and when I was done I went to get out of the car. I thought I was clear and I went to stand up straight... bashing my head onto the metal van door frame!

I smashed my head so hard that I had an instant headache and was very woozy. Turns out I gave myself a concussion. I've had a headache for over 24 hours, and last night as the sun started going down I noticed my vision blurring a bit. I had a virtual doctor appointment today and got the diagnosis. They told me to hope that the headaches go away in a few days, but that they could potentially go on for longer. My family also has to watch me to make sure that I don't get worse.

Just another tale in stupid ways that I've hurt myself. See my greatest hits for how I've thrown my back out spitting out toothpaste.

Oh Slim I'm so sorry! That's so unfortunate, and you managed to get this by trying to make your daughter happy! When it comes to these things, so far I haven't had any crazy experiences, only once I broke my arm riding a skateboard. I hope the headaches go away, please take care and take it easy.

So, sorry, 'Slim! They do say most accidents happen at home. I was just talking to my mom about same. I cut my finger the other day, and I believe if not for CoVid, I would have gotten stitches. These things happen suddenly, and that is why they call them accidents!

Please take your concussion seriously. I have had two now, and it is vital you take care of yourself and take it easy for several days. Don't try to do too much.

Here is too quick healing and no more accidents like this in the future!

Be safe and take care!

Add that to the "things I never thought I'd read" list.

I hope you're feeling better man.

Haha must admit, that's such a nice thing of Slim to do to make sure his daughter can play the game in the van. Slim, let us know if you're doing ok since we haven't heard from you for a few days.

Thanks guys. I'm doing mostly better. A few small headaches over the last couple days brought on by loud noises. I'm also sensitive to bright lights, so I'm trying to avoid those.

As for the Fortnite thing, I think she just wanted to spend some time apart from the rest of us. We've been on the lockdown for two months now, and we have another three weeks, so we're trying to find creative ways to get that space.
