Any video game players here?

I'm a huge video game nerd, and I've been that way since I got a Nintendo at age 4 in 1988. It's turned into one of my hobbies as an adult, and I continue playing to this day, with a PS4, Xbox, and Switch in my household. Needless to say, I love playing video games. Does anyone else here play, and if so, what are your favorite games of all time?

For anyone that has a Nintendo Switch, the excellent Cuphead has been released. It is very challenging, but it's so great. Consider it something like Mega Man, mixed with old school cartoon visuals from the 1930s.

Get it if you can! I have it on Xbox and it's awesome.

Hey sharpe, that's an alright deal, but these days you can find better. Find a seller that's selling just the console , controller or 2 plus a handful of games. Then look for someone selling just a pile of games only, few are buying these days so you can find several sellers trying to sell old collections of 30, 40 sometimes 50 games or more for around 40-60$. You'll spend more than the 70$ you mentioned but this way you'll end up with controllers, a console and 40-50 games for around 100-120$ . You wont decide if you want to keep it all or not for at least a year or more, by then those Generation of games should be way up in price, once the PS5 hits the market, and you'll make way more then your money back for sure.

Thanks for all the advises Kris in that and you previous post...found those to be quite useful so I'll get all that in mind when and if I'm going to buy a game console.

You're welcome, I found myself making quite a fair bit of money selling things online, it use to be video games and consoles, buy and sell.

Until I became a mover, so many customers just give us their unwanted furniture or the stuff they don't want to bring for whatever reason. This is all good quality stuff some people don't care about, This is the stuff I sell online these days, or I keep it. One things for sure, I haven't had to pay for one piece of furniture rhat I have in my place right now lol

I used to use the Goodwill auction site to get game consoles to repair and then sell. I bought an Atari for $4 once and refurbished it and sold it for $80. Those were good times...

Panda dad... maybe not the hero we want but definitely the hero we need!

I love how he smashed it up then picked it up and had a look and decided to have a second go. Bonus points for the cry-baby reaction and the clothes falling on him. 😂

Do you have one of these "tools" Ed ? - a long grip hammer...could be a quite useful instrument obviously 😉

Is that now what they call a refurbished console?!? 😜

I've been playing a fair bit of Wipeout Omega Collection on the ps4 lately. It is such a good racing game. I don't normally play many racers but it is so challenging and addictive, and rewarding when I finally beat a level I might have been playing over and over for a couple of hours.

I hear it is amazing in VR but I don't have a headset. I am waiting for those things to get much smaller and cheaper and wireless.

Wipeout in VR is great. Hopefully the next PSVR will be wireless, as it definitely helps.

I recently bought a PC and have been playing the new Call of Duty Warzone multiplayer modes. The mode is free to play, and it's really good. I also purchased a game called Twin Breaker on PS4. It's a brick breaker game like Breakout, but it has up to four paddles being controlled by one player (on both sticks). For 10 bucks, it was well worth the money.

Twin Breaker sounds interesting though how on earth do you control 4 paddles with one controller?

When I grew up, I never played video games, never had a playstation or a substitute to play them on. But now that I do, the only game I've played so far was Resident Evil and Mortal Combat. Any good suggestions for games with 1 player?

So you have a PS4? And what do you like best - action / adventure / racing / sports etc?

God of War is an amazing single player game, one of the best I've ever played. And you can usually pick it up very cheap.

The Last of Us Remastered is supposed to be awesome but I haven't played it. It might be a bit touchy at the moment as it is about people surviving a zombie apocalypse caused by a pandemic. But if you liked Resident Evil you may enjoy it.

If you have loads of free time (and who doesn't these days?) you can go through the list of highest rated games on Metacritic. Here's the PS4 list.

My youngest son has been spending his time perfecting his Call of Duty, War Zone. He got first place the other day. Such a proud mama. hahaha

And if you really want a laugh, just watch me try to play. I am the WORST video game player there ever was. My grown sons like to watch me play just so they can have a laugh. How rude! 😢

The gaming in my place has ramped up, I work with the buddy I live with, and when not at work, we're playing video games, both of us dont go out much except for work these days. I cashed out over $10,000 from Videoslots and Players Come First online casinos this past week. So I went out and bought us each a PS4 and games along with PSN memberships for the next few months lol. I'm playing Borderlands 3 right now, Its action packed.

Skyrim Elder Scrolls lol say hello to the next 6 months of your life , you're welcome .

Any Final Fantasy game in my opinion is a great choice. The new remake of Final Fantasy 7 is out in 3 days, and let me tell you, the demo I played looks unreal. RPG fan or not, this game is going to break records.

Oh yeah Skyrim... a game I have started about eight times and never gotten anywhere near finishing. Still it is great fun, just mind-blowingly huge.

I've got my FF7 Remake pre-ordered and installed. Just waiting for that clock to wind down. The original is one of my favorite games of all-time, and I can't wait to get into this new imagining of it.

Ed, Twin Breaker's four paddles see you working both axis of your analog pads to control. It gets batty and difficult, but I love brick breaker games. It's something different

Yes I do have a PS4, thanks for the suggestions Ed! Will certainly take a look at them and see what fits my taste. I guess I kind of like scary vibe, action.

I've been playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and oh man, what a game. I'm getting into the third act of it, and I snapped this picture. It's gorgeous and so much different than what we had in 1997.

I think as a child I always played Zelda OCarina on my Nintendo 64. When WII came along, my love for Mario Kart began. And with my PS3 my obsession for all the Call of Duty
