2019 Oscars Competition. Win CLchips!

60 replies • Last post

Oscars Quote

Weeeeeee'rrrreeeee baaaaack! Back by popular demand, this is our annual Academy Awards tipping competition.

You can win yourself up to 200 CLchips to spend in our shop just by predicting who will win at the 91st annual Oscars, which will be held on Sunday February 24 at 5pm U.S. PST.

The rules are simple:
1. Entry is free to all Casino Listings members.
2. Nominate your winner in each of the categories below in a reply to this thread. The person who picks the most winners scoops the pool of 100 CLchips.
3. If there is a tie we will split the pool evenly.
4. If someone gets every single category right, we'll double the prize to 200 CLchips.
5. Entries close at the beginning of the Oscars ceremony on February 24, 2019, 5pm U.S. PST.
6. You can enter multiple times if you change your mind, but only your last dated post will be used as your entry.

We have picked 9 categories that you need to pick from and an extra question at the end to make it 10 in all.

Among the nominated movies for Best Movies, I saw Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is norn. I think that all of these movies are not good enough for Best Movie at all.

Right now, I am on my way to see Green Book πŸ™‚

And probably, I will go to watch Roma in a day or two.

Oh, people are posting their picks πŸ™‚
I can't still decide the winners.

I saw Green Book and Roma...

Green Book was interesting but short to be a best movie.
Roma... Ah... it breaks heart of the audience. It is a good movie.

The Favourite seems to be my taste, but it starts to show tomorrow here πŸ™‚
And Vice should be a good movie to see.

I will try watch both.

Thanks for the reminder. It is quite difficult to choose πŸ™‚
There are some nice movies, but overall, Year 2018 was not a big harvest of good movies, as I feel...

Maybe it is just my problem, because I couldn't concentrate and enjoy movies until last year... πŸ™‚

I have watched four of the eight movies so far, and I am watching Bohemian Rhapsody right now. I want to watch Roma tonight. I started it, but I was interrupted. I also have not seen A Star is Born or The Favourite,

I did watch some of the movies from other categories. I loved Richard Grant in Can You Ever Forgive me, and I loved his reaction to being nominated. I adore Regina King and I loved the gentle poetry amidst the heartbreak of If Beale Street Could Talk. I tried to watch The Wife but not available on my new Firestick app, HD Cinema. The BlacKKKlansman was a fun movie - amazing! Vice was also well done, and I love Amy Adams! She was incredible in that movie and showing he ability to transform herself into any role (after also watching her in Sharp Objects, a polar opposite role!). I also want to see RBG, because I own and read The Notorious RBG and I worship that woman! πŸ™‚

They are saying this is the most confusing year for these awards, and I agree. So I will probably be way off this year, but it is still fun to play!

Good luck everyone!

Vovvom12, I actually enjoyed the plot of Can You Ever Forgive me, but the characters did make the movie! I often enjoy movies based on true stories, and this one was interesting in how she got away with what she did for so long, and how she got into it in the first place. I loved Richard Grant's performance. Did you all see this? πŸ™‚

I picked Roma, but I didn't really enjoy the movie. Ir was just not the type of movie I watch, but I guess that is what made it a standout, because it was so different.

Wow Hope, I think you win for number of Oscar movies watched!

I want to see this too, it's on it's final run in artsy cinemas around here so will probably have to get a copy for home. Not being American, she's only just come onto my radar, but what an amazing human being!!

Good luck everyone with their guesses!

This year I'm a spectator for this competition, I have not seen even one of these movies, or hardly anything else this entire year.
No reason other than circumstances and trying to stay busy doing other things . I haven't had TV for an entire year now, just hooked up my Netflix account to the TV a week ago.
