There we go lol, Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas.
I have been singing my son to sleep with song since his very first night after birth, it calms him down every time, tired, sick, teething you name it. So it has shot to the top of my all time favorites list.

Haha good old Ironic by Alanis Morissette. The only ironic thing about it of course is that nothing in the song is ironic, and she simply doesn't understand the difference between bad luck and irony. Which in itself probably makes the song ironic. Weird, but was it intentional?!?!?

I like this. But geez... about 1:10 in the video the nearly gets wiped out by a car while going round a blind corner.

I found the full song too

yeah thanks Ed...i know that some one who realy like that track could easily
find the full version on youtube ...but my intention was to share the combination of the
funky musik and the stylish downhill ride from liam morgan...
which creates something new for the ear and the ey

maybe it's just me because i'm skateboarding myself almost 10 years....anyway

Ha-ha..never considered so deeply the lyrics of this particular songs Ed but let me disagree with you for once 😜

This is one of the Irony meanings according google,

"a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result."

So from that perspective I'm finding (at least in some of the stories in the song) a bit of Irony...but that being said maybe I'm not understanding the difference between both as well..this would of been Ironic...don't you think 😜

In fact I think the bad luck and the irony do not excluding mutually each other as a meanings...I suppose both could be valid on one particular occurrence.

But to be considered that the Alanis initial intend had been that in the lack of Irony in hers song to be in fact hidden the whole irony...well it's hard for me to believe of so deep planing anyway.

Ha-ha πŸ˜‚
I think you're just underestimating how profound and significant the work of Morissette is, mate.. πŸ˜€
I just wanted to make fool of myself and what kind of music I've been listening to back then(and probably highlight the female side of my character πŸ˜€ ) while Ed started with a "there's not any irony in the song called ironic...that must of been disputed πŸ˜‰

vomvom12 wrote:

Mainly classic stuff mate but that doesn't mean I'm not tend to listen to anything new(to me) anyway.

Sex Pistols, The Clash, Exploited.Ramones.

From the newer ones Green Day, the Offspring(if they counts πŸ™‚)the older stuff, and of course some separate tracks from many other bands including Agnostic Front.

But really not limiting my self to any particular music stream mate..if something is cool ...it's cool no matter the style...even if that means Alanis Morissette sometimes.. πŸ˜€

i totally agree with you: if something is cool for you ...it's cool no matter what ever....style it is...
or other people say/think about the stuff you like...
limiting yourself and not be open to any new stuff is for idiots who care to much about categories

Great idea for a thread! I'm 34, so my music tastes may be a bit newer than some of the old fogies here *cough* CL-Ed *cough*.

These songs shaped who I am and are some of my faves of all-time.

The Foos are one of my favorite bands of all-time, and this is one of their best songs. I love the music video!

Incubus is probably tied with the Foo Fighters for top spot in my book. Their newer stuff hasn't been great, but they had a great string of albums until 2005. I could pick a bunch of songs from them to go here, but this one is pretty great, along with a strange video.

It's funny, because I'm not a huge fan of this next band, but this song resonates with me. I had a buddy who became a Marine and passed away a few years after his service was done, and the death had a lot to with the poor treatment veterans receive. This song hits home on that and the BS that's the system in America.

Gorillaz popped up when I was in high school, and I absolutely loved their album. They've put out a bunch of great music, and this video is straight epic.

One nontraditional and probably little known acoustic versions of one of the most iconic songs of the 90' (or at least for me anyway).

I'm just noticing it's worth watching till the end but if you bored with that ..then just check at aboud 5:40... for an epic final πŸ™‚
