Someone Robbed Me!

10 replies • Last post

Today I woke up to a text message on my phone that said I had a suspicious charge on one of my bank accounts. I ended up bringing my bank account online and saw that I had $754.09 in charges that were bogus tacked onto my account. I generally don't keep a lot of money in this one, as it's more of a holding account, but I did have some dough in there for a piece of property I make payments on. Needless to say, I was overdrawn by about $20 bucks!

I ended up calling my bank, and they said that the charges are all pending, and there's nothing I can do until the charges actually post. So I had to transfer more money over from another account to cover, but I can't help but think about if I were someone that didn't have the money to cover those charges.

I'm so mad right now!

Grr...

Here's a pic of the charges too. Needless to say someone bought a butt ton of cosmetics and did it pretty quickly!

That sucks. Sorry to hear.. Happened to me twice in 2 weeks last month for $4000 total. It's a crappy feeling. I want to believe it is from me using at 3-4 different casinos online but not sure.. I guess they just guess a bunch of numbers and hope for the best. Yours just like mine were all online transactions and done very fast..

Anyone have any stories about Pamper Casino? I have tried to get a withdraw after winning and they never responded. Rip-offs? Or is it just me?

Very sorry to hear that mate, hopefully you will get to the bottom of all that and most importantly the bank will cover all your losses.
I know it's terrible feeling when your account has been hacked like that, mine is still safe - thanks good, but one my ewallets has been robed couple of times for a small amounts but it's still a very bad feeling.

allinpats, the short answer is yes, Pamper Casino is a scam that is on our blacklist already. Sorry you got caught.

slim, sorry you got robbed. Any chance your story is going to make it to the local police report? Its probably the most exciting thing to happen in your neck of the woods for a long time.

Today it looks like it's all cleared up. Only about half of the charges cleared, and I ended up going to the bank and signing a piece of paper saying the charges weren't mine, and the money was credited back to me.

This is the second scam I'm running into this week. I sold an iPhone on eBay, and the guy got it and said it's not working and is cracked. I told him to send it back and I'd give him a refund. He said he only wants a portion of the money back... which has all the telltale signs of a scam. I'm holding firm and making him send it back, but I don't think he's going to take that step.

I'd much rather deal with scammy casinos than scammy people any day of the week.

This is really unfortunate but I am happy that you got your money back, at least that is good. Otherwise, it's really crappy when someone can hack your bank details and take away your hard earned money. And about the iPhone- that truly seems like a scam from the guy, if the phone wasn't working, he would like total refund and would send it back. Hope all will work out well.

'Slim, so sorry to hear this! It is a horrible feeling, and I know this happened to my mom a few years back. She was in Florida and someone used her card in Massachusetts somehow!

I had a book of checks stolen from my home without my knowledge. They took from the middle of the box, so I had no idea. Sears store called me and said someone was trying to buy over 300 dollars worth of baby clothing! I told them no way it was mine until they described the checks. I remember the mess and having to get affadavits for the bank and so on.

I always joke that if someone stole my identify they would be sorry, but it is really no funny at all. What a mess, and you are correct about people who live check to check and wouldn't be able to cover someone else's charges on their own account! Thank goodness there are certain protections in place for us, but that doesn't help the matter of what turmoil it causes in our lives!

It is so difficult to catch these people, sometimes, too.
