HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! I miss all my CL Friends!

6 replies • Last post

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying so hard to find my way back here, but with my new job I am away from my home 10 to 12 hours per day, and I basically work and sleep and catch up on weekends, and little time for FUN and visiting my favorite forum - CL!

How is everyone doing? I can't wait to browse the forums and do some catching up. Right now I am playing a free 100 dollar Thanksgiving gift from Slotocash and trying my best to get through the INSANE, almost impossible playthrough, but having fun doing it.

Our family already had Thanksgiving once, back in October, because my mom asks we all get together before she goes to Florida the end of Oct., so I already cooked for 17 people during our "Fakesgiving," as my niece calls it, lol. Today it was just my oldest and youngest son (middle son went to his girlfriend's mom's since we already had Thanksgiving once) and me, and of course the cat and our dear Otis and a smaller turkey, but I decided to do it all again instead of ordering out or cooking something else because............well, because leftovers, of course! Smile

So how is your Thanksgiving? I hope you are all warm and toasty and surrounded with loved ones - family and friends. I am definitely feeling blessed today. We are all very full, and now being lazy and watching TV shows and movies. There is our first dusting of snow on the ground, and I am in my warm place looking out on the chillier weather feeling very good.

I miss being here and I miss you all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING CL FRIENDS!

Hope Smile

Happy Thanksgiving Hope! I had a good day with my family as we traveled down to the Detroit area to see my mom, dad, and both of my Grandmas. My one Grandma broke her back a few weeks ago and has been in a rehab but they let her out for the day to go home and spend the day with her family. It was pretty awesome.

On Friday we did a ride on the Polar Express, a train that takes you to the North Pole in the middle of nowhere. It was a lot of fun and the kids got to build wooden trains at the Elf Station and drink hot cider, and eat cookies.

Today we got our tree up and did ornaments, so we are now officially in the holiday spirit!

Wow, 'Slim, your tree is GORGEOUS! I love it. I still have my tiny little Charlie Brown tree, but it is still pretty with the lights, lol. I miss my real tress, but it is just not practical in our tiny apartment. That star is hitting your ceiling. Who put that up there? lol LOVE IT!

And how fun to go on the Polar Express - one of my favorite holiday books! I still have all the Christmas books from when my sons were little, and they are waiting in the Christmas box to be read to grandchildren someday. Someday? I don't know lol I guess I can read them to Otis? Smile Anyway, what a fun time and memory maker for you and your family and children! That is just way too cool!

Thanks so much for sharing your holiday happenings and beautiful tree.

Oh, and I hope your grandma heals quickly. I remember when my grandma broke her back, and for years she always had that heating pad on her back. No fun, and I am so sorry that happened to her.

That train ride looks awesome. What a cool thing to do. They have an engine like that in a museum near me and the kids love to get on and pretend they are controlling it but of course it doesn't move.

Its great to hear you're well Hope. I can't believe its christmas decoration time already... how quickly this last year has passed.

I am curious, 'Slim - what town do you go to in order to get on that Polar Express train? Just wondering! Smile
