Horrible Tragedy in Affluent Local Suburb

5 replies • Last post

I hate to bring up something so depressing, but this just shows that incidents like these know no boundaries.

This is a horrible murder suicide that made national (possibly worldwide) news in a very affluent suburb just miles away from Minneapolis and my home. Lake Minnetonka is known as a very rich community and kind of a "party lake." As you can see in the second photo, the two-million dollar home was massive.

The father killed his three beautiful teenaged children and his wife before turning the gun on himself. He was founder of a popular website called allnurses.com

This link shows the home:

That is horrible. I can't understand why people who do that want to take out the rest of their family too.

Ugh, that is horrible to see. I always shake my head when I see something like this. It makes no sense.

I am sorry for sharing, but I have been so bothered by it. I can't imagine being a neighbor or what the climate at the school the three teens attended must be like these first few days of school. And people always say "he was the nicest guy," and so on. You can have all that and money means absolutely nothing if these is not deep, unconditional love and if depression and/or mental illness (?) (I am not sure, but that is the only way I can explain something this horrible in my mind) is present. Impossible to comprehend.

What an Very Sad and terrible story! turns out as rich people also get crazy in there heads, why should people take the live's of there children who should have a great future to go! this is pure egoism in my opinion, this happened near my living place also, a Father of 3 children, 2 girls, 9,11,14 years old, and there mom. bought a recent pretty big farm, to build up there dream; Bed & Breakfast, they really had an amazing place for it because the view was right on a big river! what happened is that it didn't went so good as expected lots of things had too be done to get financial pieces together and build there ''dream''. this went too much for that father, and he decided on a sunday morning, to kill his daughters with An STONE smashed to there heads, so freaking sick now i'm even shaking when typing this, then he stabbed he's wife with a knife in her neck, and after this he put farm on fire and hang he's self with a rope. This was such a big tragedy i hope it will never ever happens anywhere again in the world, it's pure egoism to take the live of children, of people who don't do anything wrong, just end your own life then. World is so hard and sad sometimes, with these bad people.

Don't follow me!, I'm Lost too....Smile

nelsnik, I agree - why couldn't the father just take his own life, as it is SO impossible to understand how he could take the lives of his very own wife and the children who had their entire lives before them. Interesting to me that the dog went unharmed, although I am glad it did. That is a horrible story you shared, and these are stories that those of us who chose love as our focus in life, not money, cannot begin to comprehend. With all those families had, real unconditional love would have kept them together as they went through their "downsizing" and start again. Many have done just that, not chosen the path these sickos take. I cannot begin to understand.
