Good TV Shows?

Hey guys, I have been really busy lately and unable to keep up with any shows on TV. I know it is summer here so I am not inside a bunch until late at night, but I am still looking for some new shows to watch. Any suggestions?

I haven't watched American Gods yet but definitely will, I truly like one of the main characters, just haven't found where to watch the show as it is on Amazon.

The Good Wife has been around for ages but it's such great quality drama. I particularly love the legal drama stuff and the series covers issues in current affairs. And it features a strong female lead which you don't find in many TV shows!

Have you checked out the spin off yet? The Good Fight? It has a few of our favorites, and I enjoyed the first season.

Another Amazon show I have not finished is Man in the High Tower, another book adaptation by one of my favorite authors Phillip K. Dick. I never really liked Science Fiction until I read his books.

I really like his books too. I've watched all of the show so far. It is good but it seems to be going in quite a different direction to the book in some ways. A lot of the minor characters are a lot more fleshed out. I guess that means that at least there are going to be some surprises in store!

You make me want to get back to it. I think I went 3/4 through the first season, and then my computer kinda pooped out on me (it overheats quickly), and I quit watching cable and Amazon shows for a while. Now I have cable AND Kodi, so I can watch anything I want on TV again, so I will have to catch up on this one. 🙂

So yesterday I started to watch that show named Gypsy. It is amazing, so exciting and Naomi Watts (sorry if I'm mispronounciating her name) is the lead role. Can't wait to watch next episode.

Well yesterday I watched the first episode and loved it. She's one of my favorite actresses.

I finished the Netflix show about the Unibomber, and I believe it was really well done.

I am on the final episode of Mind Hunters on Netflix now. It is about the creation of the Behavioral Analysis Unit which they created in part by interviewing serial killers and other murderers. The rapport between the two main characters makes the show for me. I hope there will be another season.

Is anyone else looking forward to another season of STRANGER THINGS? I heard they are going to go for at least five seasons - that much planned out already! The new season begins on Friday.

Finally, my oldest son and I are rewatching JUSTIFIED with my youngest son. We just finished doing the same with Deadwood. I enjoy rewatching my favorites, because I often catch new things or realize how much I have forgotten.

It is the final season of Ray Donovan and I am watching that much slower. I am at least three episodes behind, but hey, I cannot watch ALL the TV, can I? lol

The last TV show I watched- almost binge-watched was Mindhunter from Netflix- it was a really entertaining show about crime and murders. And I can't wait to see Stranger Things!

I'm actually looking for some good new shows to watch. Halt and Catch Fire finished up, but Mr Robot is back and I've got my eye on the new Star Trek and Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, though I'll probably wait until those two have finished their seasons so I can watch them quickly rather than once a week. I'm looking forward to Stranger Things too, I hope they don't ruin it.

I'll have to look up Mind Hunters. I haven't heard of that one before.

I definitely vouch for Mind Hunters. It had this really nice looking editing and gave me a fall feeling. I also hope that Stranger Things will be good. I stopped watching Mr Robot quite fast, for some reason it didn't interest me that much.

I just started The Orville, which is a funny Star Trek spoof. The show actually is more serious than I thought it'd be and I enjoy it. I'm 5 episodes in and hooked.

I just finished watching Portlandia. I loved the show- so I am excited that they will be having a new season. Also OA from Netflix was an amazing show- I binge-watched all season in 2 days.

I think they did a great job with the second season of Stranger Things. Everyone I have talked to likes it as much, some like it better, than Season One. I would like to see the Phillip K Dick and also The Handmaiden's Tale. So much good TV these days. I watch more TV than movies now. 🙂

My son likes that show a lot. I really like Silicon Valley, but I am behind on that show now.

I've seen the Stranger Things second season now and I agree its pretty good. Obviously not as surprising as the first one though. However there was one very odd episode that didn't really fit in. It was the one where they show what Eleven gets up to while she goes away. It was bizarre, almost as if they were angling to launch a spin off show.

I feel similarly as you do. I am in the middle of season two but it kind of feels like they are reaching- like they decided to make the season 2 just because it was very popular not because it needed another season.

I still love the awesome Sci Fi Horror eighties feel to the show. I think Season Two is GREAT!

If anyone is in the mood for a LAUGH check out Netflix and watch Judah Friedlander stand up comedy: America is the Greatest Country in the United States.

Finished season 2 of Stranger things. Overall I liked it. Of course the sounds were everything and many things were unexpected.

I will quote the above, because it is worth watching!

I am now watching a Canadian show called Intelligence on Netflix. It is really good!

Has anyone here ever watched "Longmire" it's on Netflix, 6 seasons I believe, what an excellent show it is. I'm a few episodes away from the very end and to be honest, I'm sad to see it end. If you haven't given it a chance, I recommend you do so, especially if you are a western fan.

I love Black Mirror. Did you watch the first 3 from the latest season or the first season? If you haven't watched the old ones I highly recommend them.

Thanks for the recommendation WaroftheGods, I've added Longmire to my Netflix list.

One little bit of advice or warning is that the first ever episode was really controversial and right out there, and it was enough to turn a lot of people off. If that is you, just ignore it and press on because every episode is a completely different story and most of them are excellent. Its a bit like a modern twilight zone, only with technology being the focus. One of the other episodes in the first season is a story about the consequences of technology that allows people to record everything they ever see and do, and I rate it as one of the best.
