Hey guys, I have been really busy lately and unable to keep up with any shows on TV. I know it is summer here so I am not inside a bunch until late at night, but I am still looking for some new shows to watch. Any suggestions?

My personal new favorites- Walking Dead with their new season.
Also Finding Prince Charming- basically bachelorette for gay guys, really positive, funny and entertaining 🙂
And of course Westworld- amazing, super interesting show. Have any of you tried it?

I finally gave up on The Walking Dead. Too repetitive for me and the dialogue is just terrible. And I was a huge fan. My son still watches.

I watched the first few seasons of Fear the Walking Dead and it was just okay.

Haven't heard of Prince Charming - sounds interesting. and I am not on the Westworld wagon yet, although my son watches that too and I hear buzz on the radio.

A good mindless reality show is on Netflix and called The Super. Kind of like Hoarders meets Cops, lol This guy is basically a slumlord but does good things for a few to make himself, and his many businesses look good for the show. There are two seasons up.

I also need to catch up on Black Mirror, Netflix. I have only watched Season One.

Two more Netflix favorites are Bloodline and Stranger Things.

I also watched Black Mirror season one, loved it. Haven't spent time with the second one just yet. Also I do understand your opinion about The Walking dead. There are episodes that are great and also not good ones so I have mixed feelings about the show.

Oh yes I started watching Black Mirror a few weeks back. Wow what a show. If I had to compare I'd say its like the Twilight Zone but more contemporary and focused on the bad side of modern technology. I've seen the first episode of season 2 and its just as good as the first season.

I've also been watching a lot of Ripper Street which is quite a good show set in Whitechapel in London in the years following the Jack the Ripper murders.

Oh thanks for saying that, I am excited to finally watch the 2nd season. Also I am interested in the Jak the Ripper so I might give the Ripper Street a try.

It isn't really about Jack the Ripper, more the time and place that those things happened. The area of London is very rough and the police are sometimes as bad as the people. Its a good show but won't reveal anything about the ripper (so far that I have seen).

Thanks for the note. I will try to check it out some time, seems interesting enough.

I told you it was good blck! 😂 Lately I've been watching the Marvel shows on Netflix like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil. They are all a little intertwined which makes them interesting. I like them more than the super hero movies which I am thoroughly sick of, because there is more time to develop the characters and have longer and more interesting stories.

I also caught the 2nd series of Broadchurch which is very good again, though I think that it is probably all over now.

Another good one for sci-fi fans is The Expanse which is set in the near future with people having colonised Mars and the moons of Jupiter.

And you were absolutely right! 🙂 I really liked it. Also I have been watching the X files a lot lately. I am waiting for the new House of Cards season, it will come out in the end of May.

What Hope is watching right now:

The third and final season of The Leftovers 😢

The third season of Fargo

Silicon Valley - I'm on Season 3

The Americans

The Good Fight (Just started first season - off shoot of The Good Wife, which I was missing)

Better Call Saul - Gus is back! Yay! 🙂

Just finished the most recent season of Baskets, and OMG does Louie Anderson play the mom SO WELL!

Watched a silly show called Hap and Leonard. Has Omar from The Wire in a very different part

That's all I can think of for now. I feel like there is more. Yes, I am a TV addict. 🙂

We lately started to watch the 100. I wasn't a fan after the first episode but now we are at season 2 and it is quite exciting.

We started watching The Handmaid's Tale last night. Its set in the future after war has wiped out a lot of the United States and the religious fundamentalists have taken over. Most of the women are unable to give birth so those who are able to are enslaved and made to live with rich families so they can bear children for them. I've watched a couple of episodes and so far so good, but its not exactly the most uplifting show to watch!

Well it doesn't sound uplifting at all 😂 But not all shows must be uplifting so as far as the storyline is good, it's good.

I ended up watching Peaky Blinders on the recommendation of this thread. I enjoyed it a lot, though they aren't the most sympathetic characters. It seems everyone in that show is bad in some way or another. Its well worth a look if you enjoy a bit of crime family drama.

Is anyone watching the new American Gods? A short season one, only eight episodes, but I really enjoyed it. I bought my middle son the book a few years back. Love seeing Ian McShane as god, "Wednesday," as many will remember him from Deadwood and later from Ray Donavon. LOVE Ian McShane. 🙂

An oldie but goodie is on Netflix now, too: American Crime. Three seasons, all with different topics but many of the same actors. Well produced and good acting.

We finished up our favorites: Leftovers (last season, so series finale), Better Call Saul, and Fargo.

Orphan Black is back, and I am unsure what I think of this season so far.

That's all I can think of for now!

TV is usually my little reward at the end of the day, so I often watch in the evening. Yes, I am a TV show addict. TV is SO much better than back in the day. Equal to the movies now, with well known actors, etc. When my kids were young, I was so strict about TV watching, and now I am a self proclaimed junkie. lol

In my next life, I want to be Alan Sepinwall who reviews TV shows for a living. 🙂

I read the book, but I have not started this series yet. Another good Amazon show is Goliath with Billy Bob Thornton and William Hurt - amazing actors both!

I didn't really like Sneaky Pete that features Bryan Cranston, even though I wanted to like it. Only watched a few episodes.

Another Amazon show I have not finished is Man in the High Tower, another book adaptation by one of my favorite authors Phillip K. Dick. I never really liked Science Fiction until I read his books.

Amazon is coming out with more and more good programming. It's EVERYWHERE! 🙂

CL-Ed in the final season of The Leftovers, they spend ample time in Australia, which was kind of fun. 🙂 It is only three seasons long. It was a book, but they got through the book in the first season, so they had to go beyond. It was one show where I really enjoyed the series finale - some shows seem to mess up that final episode/season (examples: Bloodline on Netflix and Dexter), but this finale was very satisfying.

Oh, one last show that IS really good if you have Netflix, and that is Bloodline. I was disappointed in the finale, but they planned the show to go five to six seasons, and they had to cut short to three, due to something involving taxes in the Florida Keys. It is a great show with a beautiful setting and good acting. If you like suspense, start binging now. All 3 seasons on Netflix. 🙂
