Hey guys, I have been really busy lately and unable to keep up with any shows on TV. I know it is summer here so I am not inside a bunch until late at night, but I am still looking for some new shows to watch. Any suggestions?

Stranger Things is one of my all-time favorite shows. Probably in my top 5 if I had to rank them. I grew up in the 80's so this show is in my wheelhouse. My favorite seasons are 1,3 and 2. Can't wait for the new season later next year.

absolutly...i love this show as well

one last sentence about the sopranos:

sorry I didn't want to mess around here and of course it's my purely
subjective opinion ... probably due to all the hype I had expectations
that were far too high and that is known to be never good...

I really enjoyed "Lie to me" with Tim Roth. Such a pity that they canceled this show during 3rd season , as it was original and extremely interesting

I recently saw the Wilds on Amazon Prime, it was a really captivating show. Can't wait for the second season! Also saw Sons of Sam on Netflix as I am a fan of crime documentaries.

I did enjoy "Succession". I didn't care or connect with any of the characters because everyone in this series is just an A...hole.

Right now I enjoy "Beforeigners'. It takes the migrant/refugees/asyl topic to a different level.

A show i just binge watched the 5th season is Kim's Convenience. Based on Korean family that run a 7/11 store. (We don't have 7/11 in Ireland) Great watch and i would highly reccomend.
If you've not seen The Crown and are interested in the real-time history based drama series with excellent casting including Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher which was probably my favorite character after Olivia Coleman as Queen Elizabeth II.
I would also like to point out that there has been a stigma between Irish and people from the UK going back as far as when Queen Victoria was the head of state.
Modern Irish have been completely different because of these shows, the younger generations are developing a guilty pleasure in learning about how it all went down including the very interesting storyline of Princess Diana/ Diana Spencer.
If anyone has any similar shows worth watching do reply 😀

I just started watching Mare of East town. I really like it, it's quite dark and has detective theme. Looks like a binge-watching material.

I haven't watched it yet, but it's been on my radar. I overall quite enjoy European shows, especially French and Spanish ones so might give it a go. I recently saw Elite, it was quite interesting but more appealing to younger people I think. Reminded me of 13 reasons why.

Oh yeah, we had a free subscription for Apple TV for a while after buying a phone, and I thought that For All Mankind was the best show on there. There wasn't much else worth watching to be honest, only Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest come to mind.

They've added now Lisey's Story which is based on Steven Kings novel and also The Mosquito Coast was great.

Unfortunately our free subscription expired and we didn't think it was worth it to keep paying. In future it might be worth signing up for a month to watch whatever and then cancelling.

Definitely! Also with Apple TV + you can rent movies for a cost and the offering is quite good. Also the Morning Show season 2 is coming out these days and it's a fantastic show, if you like Reese Whiterspoon, Jennifer Anniston and drama genre.

Recently watched Lucifer. Sometimes watch Sherlock. Recently, I have been playing more and more, so don't often have time to watch my favorite TV series.

Anyone watching the new Tiger King season 2? While I liked the first season, the second one feels underwhelming. Also, any good recommendations for new TV shows? Crime/ Drama genre preferably 🙂

I've been meaning to watch this but I'm not sure how it is supposed to work with Joe Exotic in jail. Louis Theroux has done a 2nd documentary about them which is supposed to be good (he did one about 10 years ago before Tiger King was a thing).

I've been watching Succession lately. Succession is a weird show about a mega rich family running a media empire - like Rupert Murdoch and the fam. Almost every single character in it is thoroughly unlikeable but you want to keep watching to see what happens to them (hopefully they all go down).

I just started on Foundation and so far I like it as I'm a bit of a sci-fi nut so its right up my alley.

I watched episode 1 of season 2 of TK last night. I'm going to see how off the rails it gets. I want to see the Louis Theroux one that Ed is talking about.

Nothing beats a bunch of meth-head, gun-toting, hillbilly nutcases fighting over tigers. 🙂

Thanks guys for the suggestions! I've been meaning to watch Succession so will give it a go. As per Tiger King, while I binge watched the first season, can't seem to even finish the second one, maybe too much time has passed and just don't find it relevant anymore.

It's almost a common consensus that Succession is the best show on TV right now, and I'd personally agree. I think the reason it's so compelling is because every character is the villain in their own right...

Speaking of villains, is anyone watching the Dexter reboot - thoughts so far?

Dexter was one of my favourite shows and I've seen it multiple times. I haven't seen the new season yet, but comments on imdb were quite good. Have you watched it Matthew?

Did anyone start the Hawkeye series on Disney+? I watched the first episode and thought "meh". But I have to give the second episode a watch before I decide whether or not to continue.

Finished watching the Squid Game yesterday, and my impressions are conflicting. On the one hand, it is interesting to watch, the sixth episode is one of the most exciting and intense among all TV shows that have ever been. On the other hand, the ending is weak and the idea itself has been filmed many times, so it won't surprise you with its originality.

I've heard many good reviews about Squid game but haven't watched it yet. But I think the idea of the show is definitely interesting, it's on my watch list.

There are actually a lot of really good shows out there. My favorites are Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Supernatural, The Witcher, Wheel of Time, Dr. House. These are the first series that immediately come to my mind.

I liked Supernatural but stopped watching it at some point. Saw the first season of the Witcher but lost interest. But I've heard some really good feedback on Wheel of Time.
