Going to Chicago

3 replies • Last post

So I have to go to Chicago this weekend for my daughter's cheerleading competition, but I haven't really spent a lot of time in Chicago and I don't have any good ideas for killing time.

Have any of you been to the Windy City? What is your favorite thing to do there? Any recommendations for me?

I've been there twice many years ago now (back in the 90s, jeez that makes me feel old). If you want a view from up high of the lake in one direction and the city blocks in the other you can go to the top of the Hancock Tower which isn't as high as the Sears Tower but you won't have to line up as long to get in.

I spent a great night in a jazz/blues club which ended with 7 of us piling into a taxi in the freezing cold at 4am and asking the guy to drive us about 50 miles back to where we were staying for our work training course. But there's no way I could name the place now! Smile

Haha that's great! I ended up driving down there and back... about 5 hours each way, so I am recovering tonight. We stayed a little ways outside of Chicago, and ended up hitting a giant mall area yesterday. We didn't have a ton of time, but I still got to check out a Tesla electric car as well as the Apple Watch. It was a ton of fun as the mall is completely outside. I have no clue what they do during the winter time there!
