I am back! I was in Fiji over Easter with my family which was lovely. 30 degrees every day, bright sunshine, a little island, and kids club. Not much to complain about! lol I tried scuba diving for the first time which was awesome and my kids got to do fun things like fishing, snorkelling and crab racing. The best thing about Fiji is it is fairly close to Australia so its quick and cheap to get to, the worst thing is probably that almost everyone else visiting there is Australian too!

I can't post many photos yet because my brother in law was there and he is a photographer so I pretty much didn't bother as he has a camera everywhere he goes. My phone was locked in the room safe and switched off for most of the time. No phone, no internet, no email for a week. It was very relaxing. Here are a couple from just outside our little room by the beach.

GORGEOUS~ Oh wow! I so adore the beach, and I always say all I would need is a little HUT on the beach - what beauty!

Scuba diving sounds awesome! I have always wanted to learn, but so far I have just snorkeled, and I love that. Sounds like the kiddos had a great time, too!

Thanks for sharing, CL-Ed, and welcome home. Smile

And isn't it nice to just unplug sometimes? I really enjoyed leaving technology behind when I visited Florida in February. It IS truly relaxing to not to have to worry about being online and checking phones all the time and so on.

Was the trip a surprise for your father or did he know about it before? If it was a surprise, how did he react?

I am so happy for you (and like Slim a bit jealous, too, of course, lol!) that you had some nice family time in a gorgeous place.

Scuba diving was indeed awesome. I was surprised that they took me out where they did straight away after a short session in the pool to learn how to breathe and use the equipment. I went down to 12 metres and had a great time swimming amongst some coral and seeing plenty of fish and a moray eel. But I could tell I was the newbie because I was floating around upright a lot rather than horizontal which apparently all the noobs do. Smile I did manage to last 45 minutes which was good as they only thought I would do 30, as beginners usually suck through their air very fast apparently.

As for unplugging, I went on a long overdue email binge the night before I left. I got something like 460 unread emails down to zero. I was so pleased. By the time I got back a week later I had 586 unread. I kid you not. So yes, it was great to unplug, not so great to plug back in!

Oh, I hate when that happens with my emails. I have so much junk again now (i opened a new account several years ago just due to that reason, and now this one is just as bad as the old one). And the longer I don't check it the worse it gets, cuz then I dread it and put it off even longer, lol. If I would just check daily. I can imagine you have my issue times at least 10, lol. I usually watch something on TV and sit and DELETE DELETE DELETE.

I would love to put scuba diving on my bucket list. I am a true water baby, and that would be so much fun to try. I would love to parasail, too, but that is another story, lol.

So glad you had a nice time!

Was your dad surprised? Surprized I don't know

I feel the same way, belaff! I can only dream of such a trip. There are so many places I want to see, and I love to travel, but I have mainly traveled within the U.S. I would love to see Australia someday. Do you think CL Ed and family have room on their couch? lol

Oh man you would hate it here. Sometimes I have to catch snakes in my kitchen with my bare hands. But generally its ok, we just pick up the spiders which are as big as your hand and feed them to the snakes and they leave us alone. Its annoying when they wake me up at night by slithering over my face while I am asleep though.

* Some of what I just wrote may not be entirely true. Ok, maybe all of it.

We did have this little gecko living in our room in Fiji though. He freaked my kids out by crawling out from behind a photo on the wall just after they had gotten into bed and were about to go to sleep.
