What a week, when it rains it pours!

So I'm just going to vent about my week here, actually more like a fortnight of things going weird and wrong on the site here.

First up was the mystery of the WMS free games which stopped working a couple of weeks ago. People kept emailing us asking why they would load to 100% then just sit there without the game starting. It had us stumped and all enquiries with WMS went unanswered until... WMS announced that they were getting out of the direct B2C space and concentrating on supplying games B2B, and they had sold their casino Jackpot Party to another operator. The casino is more or less closed and the new operator is attempting to migrate all the old players to a new casino called Slots Magic. This no doubt explained why the games wouldn't run.

So after a bit of searching and emailing we came up with another provider for the WMS games - thanks CasinoEuro - albeit only about half of the ones we used to have. This is the same deal for the former Jackpot Party customers if they switch over to the new place. So hopefully the ones that disappeared will be re-licensed in the future.

On a similar track, Amaya announced that Disney, the new owners of Marvel, had decided not to renew their licensing agreement, meaning that all the former Cryptoloigic Marvel slots like Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Hulk and X-Men would stop working as of last week. So that meant disabling a load of games, and our jackpot tracker. Playtech will probably have the same problem in the future whenever their Marvel licensing deal expires given their new owner Disney's ultra-conservative nature.

And that's when we realised every single one of our Playtech games had stopped working. Our provider had changed their linking structure completely so it wasn't just a simple matter of changing one line like we planned for in cases like this, because we had to update codes for every single game.

And all the time while we're doing this we're sitting there going "why is the site so slow?" Something was up and we couldn't figure it out for a day or two. Finally we tracked it down to a problem with the free games the culprit once again. Now that is fixed and the site feels about 5 times faster all of a sudden.

So now it is Friday afternoon and I am in dire need of an ice cold beer.
