Too Much Snow!

6 replies • Last post

Today we are supposed to finally get above the freezing mark, but last night Mother Nature decided to drop about 8 inches of snow on us.

I am so sick of it! I need it to melt, as I literally have NO where else to put snow!

Look and see for yourself.

Has been a crazy, harsh winter everywhere (well ALMOST everywhere, lol) this year! that looks like my sidewalk to my apartment.

I was grateful to miss the ONE FOOT that was dropped on us while I was gone. My sons were not so lucky as one got his car stuck and one hit a snowbank and ended up with a 500 dollar deductible and rental car. (long story short). I was afraid I wasn't going to make it to the airport on Monday, either, as we drove 25 to 30 mpr all the way there, and my flight ended up being a little over two hours late. Said "on time" when I left the house, but as we started driving, I knew better.

After being in Florida and living the easy life for a week, I all the more wonder why I put up with what we do each year, especially this year. I am ready to return.

You house looks really nice and cozy at the end of that drive ,though, 'Slim! lol

That is a LOT of snow! We've had some drifts that were a couple of feet high. This year it's been one snow after another for us. For almost two months I wore nothing but boots outside. Last week I wore my first pair of regular shoes for a couple of days then back to boots. I think we've had a snow or two almost every week for the last two months. Our driveway is mainly ice. There is a slight hill to the drive which makes it treacherous to walk down. My kitchen is filling up with trash, because I can't risk falling to take it out. It's bad when we are excited for the temp to get to a high of 22 and think it's warming up. Snow is on the forecast for later today too. 3-5 inches of snow are called for. I hope those of us are too cold get some warmer weather and those who are too hot get some cooler weather.

It was SO difficult to put on blue jeans and my tall black winter boots to ride to the Fort Myers airport, lol. On the way there, I had my flip flops in my carry on, and a tank top under my sweatshirt, and I changed into my flip flops the minute we hit the ground. Going back is just not as fun. I waited until the very last minute to put on those heavy boots. lol

The only time I have ever seen that much snow, actually scratch that - any snow - is when I have gone somewhere to go skiing. Shovelling all that every day must be a royal PITA.

When I was looking at the photos without zooming at first I thought your letterbox was a boat motor and the boat was buried.

Uh yeah, the snow can get to be absurd when you shovel it. I've been out twice today because we were supposed to get a "trace" of snow... 3 inches later it is still coming down.

I almost prefer it to be -17F to 20F, because it is too cold to get any real snow. When it warms up is when it starts to fly.

Here is hoping the piles are gone by May!
