Blizzard

11 replies • Last post

Hey guys, if you are in the north east, be careful of that blizzard heading your way.

I woke up this morning to be blessed with about a foot of snow. I am not even in the blizzard path, but this storm is no joke.

Keep careful and make sure you have some extra food and stuff to tide you over for a few days.

Here's a pic of my back yard. I had next to no snow before yesterday. LAME!

Oh, wow!

They are predicting freezing rain here, and winter advisory more north of the twin cities, but these things are unpredictable. They are calling this a "historic" storm, so I feel for those out east, as I have been there many times in the past. I hope everyone is prepared and stays safe AND keeps their power on. They are talking up to three feet of snow in some areas. Ugh

Well they said we could receive up to eight inches, but our part of the state of MN only received a few inches of snow. Whew! For once we didn't get hit, although oldest son had some layers of ice and snow to scrape off his car this morning.

I feel so bad for those without power, and for the tragic stories we are reading about from out East. Very sad.

I was blessed to be in 50 and 60 degree weather this past week. My driveway is all ice. It must have snowed, melted, then re-froze. I hope it will be spring soon for all of us. I don't envy your snow Slim.

Trust me, with my back I don't enjoy it. It took me an hour and forty minutes to shovel my driveway the day it snowed.

It sucked so bad. If I would have gotten my tax refund a day earlier I would have sprung for a snow blower.

We bought a snow blower two years ago for me, because my boyfriend has had several shoulder surgeries and can't use the snow blower. I've only had to use it a handful of times since then. I was very thankful to have it when we got 12 inches of snow either last year or the year before. The snow blower is really too big for me though. It's all I can do to squeeze the handle with my small hands. It can be awkward to maneuver too. The day of the 12" of snow, I was out there for hours. I did help my neighbors out though so that took longer. I have a lot of health problems too Slim so I do understand how challenging it can be.

Be careful, 'Slim! Maybe, if you can afford it, you should hire some help. You don't want to make your back injury worse, and shoveling is really hard on the back. Take care of YOU!
